Q: What do you need other than this device, Air? Gas Etc.

The air requirements have been given here, but there is some misleading information. Pancake type compressors (portable small tank... doesn't need to be pancake style) are rate CFM at a specific pressure. The Bostich, for example, is rated at 2.8 cfm @90 psi. That means it can supply more than that at lower pressures. Since the duty cycle on this cutter is 60% maximum, that compressor will do just fine so long as you don't care about it cycling more often and a large 2-stage compressor. People sometimes know just enough to make it sound like they're experts when they really just know a bit more than you. Be careful about the advice you accept in consumer forums.

Q: How many cfm of air does it require and at what pressure?

The Lotos LTP5000D utilizes approx. 3.6 cfm at 60-70 psi. More importantly, all plasma cutters require "clean dry" air.

Q: Can someone tell me if all current ltp5000d have the 2016 upgrades and where could I get warranty/service?

I am not aware of any upgrades as my machine is a year old. I can say that I use this unit very heavily and have had no issues other than a problem with the trigger switch. Fixed in 30 seconds after splitting the torch handle and getting some grit from under the contacts. As with most Chinese welding equipment I consider them to be a disposable tool and not worth the effort to attempt warranty service if I can't fix it myself. With that said I would recommend this cutter highly. I have just changed the tip consumables for the first time. A little overdue after a year if hard use. I use this in my fav shop and it has never let me down. I would not be real concerned about warranty. Then again I can fix most things that break so that helps with taking a chance on import equipment. So far a safe gamble. I own two welders from this company also without issue.
