Q: Can you address the concerns in reviews about it flopping over due to the heaviness of the head?

The tightening assembly is indeed poorly designed as several reviewers mention. That said, if one tightens the knob hard enough the head will stay in place. Who knows how long this will work with such a cheap tightening solution? Shame cause the rest of the lamp is fine IMHO. I will be returning mine strictly because of this.

Hello, From the bottom of the stand to the top of the light is about 13" (facing straight down). If you have the light tilted up in the position like the picture it is about 22". Thank you for asking.
