My cat is OBSESSED
The media could not be loaded. My cat loves to play, but I don't always have the time to play with her as much as she would like so I was keen to find a toy that she could play with on her own. Other videos of the Ambush Interactive looked fun so I thought we'd try it out.As other reviews have mentioned, it is pretty loud and does make a a scraping mechanical sound. When I first turned it on, she was pretty afraid as she's very timid. It took about three days of me intermittently turning it on and her simply observing from afar before she would play with it. Now, the Ambush Interactive controls my life. When it isn't on, she sits beside it and screams. At night, she screams until I turn it on. She sits on it. She tries to get under it. She loves this toy more than she loves me, her food, or watching birds. It can amuse her for hours, she'd play with it constantly. A fabulous toy that will provide endless entertainment for your cat!

If it were quieter, it would be the perfect cat toy!
I got this for my bored, indoor, one year old Maine Coon, and she absolutely loves it! The random movement of the feather keeps her entertained for ages, and she loves trying to pick it up and carry it with her. It’s hilarious! After a bit over a week, she has almost denuded the feather, though, so I’ll have to replace the feather sooner than I’d like. It is also quite noisy - sounds like a printer - which is why I took off a point. If it were quieter, it would be the perfect cat toy!

Good quality toy that all cats love
I am a cat sitter and have given this toy to several cats and they all love it. A couple took a few goes to just observe it, possibly intimidated by the slight noise, but soon got stuck right in. Whilst the unit itself is great build quality and looks good, I have taken a star away for durability as the feathers themselves are quite delicate which is understandable, but are then quite expensive to replace, especially if you have a destructive cat who will do it often. I like that it pauses sporadically which keeps the cats intrigued, and that it will automatically turn off after a short time. Fairly expensive toy but worth it in my opinion.

Great toy highly recommend
We had one like this and had a few years , its a replacement and our both cats love it, however I would recommend that first time buyers play with the cat to catch the feathers , so they are frightened with the noise and ours then played no problem. Highly recommend.

Rather loud but seems well put together, my cats don't seem to like it.
The product arrives nicely packaged, it included the required batteries, a spare feather head and a manual, according to the manual contents there should be a small fixing screw for the battery compartment, which isn't included in my box.The toy is well made, mostly made of an ABS plastic, which while creates a strong box, feels like it would crack or shatter when dropped on a hard surface or stepped on.The top of the unit has a single rubber button which is nice to the touch and easy to operate. The main top panel is a translucent plastic that illuminates with 4 LEDs, which change colour based on mode. When turning on or off, there is an audible beep for confirmation. The underside of the unit has 4 glued on rubber feet, a battery door and a cable retainer, should you want to power the device with an external power supply, opposed to the 4 AA batteries. The toy is extremely easy to use, press the single button on top and it starts up. press it twice and it enters a service mode, should the head need replacing, the arm moves forward to allow this. A single press when on will turn it off.The toy has 6 holes around the outside, when on it pokes the feather out of one of the holes with varying patterns and speeds, sometimes once or twice, sometimes holding it out of the hole for a period for the cat to play with.Overall I think its a great unit. I paid £25 for it, and while its a good toy, it feels like quite a lot for such a loud device. The LEDs on top don't really add anything, and the ones on my unit flicker when the motor moves, due to the current draw being rather high.My cats don't like it, but they usually love playing games of this nature. When on it's top, obscuring a lot of the lights, and with a yoga foam block on top and under a blanket, it has improved interest somewhat, but it still isn't as good as a piece of string :DI don't regret buying it, but if it breaks, I will not be buying another and I would not recommend it to friends, unless on sale.

Waste of money
The build quality and look of this unit are quite good. But I’m afraid it’s just style over substance. The Bengal kitten who plays with everything from feathers to balls to scraps of paper and cellophane doesn’t really like it. She sits there watching it for a few minutes. Every now and then she’ll tentatively reach for the feather but she certainly isn’t going mad for it like other people’s cats have done.My other two cats just look at it with vague indifference and the dog goes for it if she thinks one of the cats is about to, but invariably they don’t so she just watches them watching it.The sound of it is a bit monotonous which I could overlook if it attracted more excitement but it just spends most of its waking hours pathetically trying to grab passing interest like a Jehovahs Witness pamphlet stall at the entrance to Alton Towers. If you like loud machinery in your relaxing space that takes ten minutes to realize nobody’s interested, then this is the cat toy for you.

Cat overview.
I have a two month old Scottish fold who is extremely playful and smart, however he just took a two minute look at this and ignored it therefore after, not saying its a bad product, just my cat did not make a connection, well made and presented.
