Is this tubing compatible with the rainbird eti (easy-to-install) sprinkler system?

This is a toughie ... this tubing is more flexible (doesn't kink) than the tubing sold with the system, which is made for straight runs. It is also a slightly smaller diameter (though try and find this stated anywhere), and made to use with the slightly smaller black barbed fittings ... trying to use the swing pipe tubing with the brown barbed fittings is a near impossibility. It should be noted that using the black fittings with the swing pipe tubing is no walk in the park either; you need to use either dish detergent or motor oil on the fittings and a lot of force, but it's doable.

What size is this? geez! 3/4in, or 1in?

Rain Bird Website says 1/2" (rough approximation, actually around .6"), but has smaller (0.49") inside dimension than their T63-050 1/2" drip irrigation tubing (0.54") so the EZ Pipe fittings differ from dripline fittings due to wall thickness and stretching. No dimensions listed on the Rainbird SWGP100 product page specifications, but uses the same barbed fittings as the Rainbird SPXFLEX100 with dimensions listed as 1/2" and inside diameter as 0.49". Outside diameter might differ between the two depending on wall thickness.

I have a lot of flower containers! If I use soaker hoses on them. Can connect to funny pipe?

Swing pipe is used to connect spray heads and rotors to lateral irrigation lines and allows the head to move under the weight of an object without transferring the impact of this force to hardline PVC pipes, poly pipe or fittings. As an FYI, it's recommended that you use not more than 36" of swing pipe tubing from your lateral irrigation lines to the sprinkler inlets. However, if you have flower containers, a drip system may be a better solution since very little water is lost to evaporation and the water can be directed only to the plants that need it, cutting back on water waste. Rain Bird does offer a raised bed garden kit that contains all the parts and tools, including 35 ft. emitter tubing, 25 ft. distribution tubing, (5) 1/4 in. barbed fittings, (5) 1/4 in. elbow fittings, (10) 1/4 in. goof plugs, (10) 1/4 in. tubing stakes, (1) 1/4 in. adaptor, (1) 25 psi regulator, and (1) filter washer.
