Q: Can you adjust setting using a browser like Chrome, as some other Amcrests cameras can do?

The settings can only be adjusted on the Amcrest Smart Home App. You can access this camera on your PC, however, it will be live view only.

Q: If using blue iris nvr software, the subscription cloud storage is not required, correct?

it's not required even if you don't use blue iris software.

Q: Does the amcrest camera allow direct video downloads from the sd card over the wifi to android phone? thanks

Yes. You have to be connected to the same network to save the contents of the SD card through the app.

Q: 1. does the camera has the possibility to store video at an ftp server? (my own). 2. are the movements alerts instantly send to my phone?

Possibly. The current way to store personal video is with a memory card and the interface is great.
