Bought as a soil additive
Bought this as a soil mix additive for house plants. I usually get the Komodo dragon bedding which is chopped to 10mm chunks. I bought this as a way to buy bulk.It comes in bricks which are surprisingly solid, I assumed I'd be able to crumble it down but was unable to, I popped it in a bucket of water briefly and it soon swelled up and the brick broke apart. It's not bad at all and it does make for a good chunky soil mix, however, the chunks of husk in these bricks are much much bigger than what I'm used to, (some pieces over 50mm) and as this, this substrate might not be appropriate for smaller plants. It'll be fine for my needs but I think will still need some of the smaller chips for my smaller propagations.I found it had little to no odour and holds onto moisture as well as any other coconut husk chippings. If you're an owner of many houseplants and you make your own soil mixes for bulk repotting, then I think overall it's a additive for soil and it's good value for money compared to buying 12L at a time.If your houseplant collection is less extreme, the bulk quantity may not be needed, and the more refined chips might be more beneficial

Nice
This is the first time I‘ve bought this product and did so after becoming interested with having indoor plants to make my conservatory more interesting. These Coco Chips Substrate arrive in a firm brick, it is easy to pull apart, you don’t need much, it just help the potting soil mix I use to be more free draining and of course go a little further. My plants appear to enjoy the more free draining aspect as I had become guilty of overwatering during the winter months.

dry
this substrate isn’t the worst but it dries out very fast and smells a bit too strong. overall it’s ok but wouldn’t buy again

Love this stuff!
This was my second batch. First purchase was excellent. This purchase must've been a faulty batch because my coir expanded into mush! 😥 I couldn't use it for more plant toppings. I got a refund from Amazon. Hopefully the next batch will be better.

Strange fabric found inside
Product was seemingly good until i noticed some very strange fabric material tucked away in the block. Made me wonder what else is within these blocks, and where it may be sourced from?also very inconvenient to soak, especially if you only need a small amount

Found pieces if plastic
Found loads of different plastic materials in the coco fibre block itself
