The basic job of a watch winder is just to spin the watches around every now and then to keep them wound. Watch Winder Smith went above and beyond to build a beautiful bamboo box that's super quiet, can run on batteries or AC, and shows your watches off in the clear display window. The fact that it's such a nice product helps assuage my guilt at being too lazy to wind and set my watch.

Very quiet and runs on batteries or AC. Keeps my automatics wound. I was tired of having to reset each watch any time I let it sit for a few days or longer.

I was looking at watch winders and originally purchased two Wolf Cubs (1 watch and 3 watch), they both stopped working after a month. The manufacturer took care right away and refunded me. I didn't particularly like the style of the other brands, I find some of the wooden one very tacky (you need to get into the $1,000 range to find classy ones) and some others like the Versa don't have a glass/plexiglass cover so the watches get dusty.I decided to give this one a try because I like the 45 degrees angle and the fact that it's the same size as a single watch Wolf Cub but fits 2 watches. (BTW the listing shows the two slots being different sizes but they're actually the same size, you can use a smaller pillow).But the main reason why I didn't like the other brands is because of their pillows. Wolf uses pillows that are so strong people actually think there is a spring inside, I opened them and it's just mattress style foam. It's way too strong so it's ok on steel bracelets but it was stretching my leather strap. The issue is that the pillow doesn't have the shape of a wrist so the stretching was giving a rectangular shape. I just don't understand how a dedicated watch accessory manufacturer would engineer something like that.Watch Winder Smith's pillows are shaped like a wrist and they're made of a different type of foam.So at 7" all around it fits 2 watches rather than only 1, the pillow fits the watch correctly, it's battery operated so you can put it anywhere and take it with you and because it's slanted at 45 degrees is more pleasant to look at (other brands have the top and sides way too thick so you don't really enjoy the watch)Overall unless you're willing to spend $1,000 on top winders this is the best on the market.One thing though, I emailed the manufacturer because I was wondering if they carried or had plans to make a smaller unit for just 1 watch, so it fits smaller spaces and can be carried in the suitcase more easily so hopefully we can get a smaller version. This version is nice on countertops etc but it would be nice for when traveling.(I used both batteries and power adapter)

This winder is truly a great product. Easy to use, well built and handsome. The packaging for shipping is bullet proof. The motor is whisper quiet, almost imperceptible in the dead of the night. The only rub is the bright blue led pilot light annoyingly pierces the darkened bedroom. I would like to dim or turn off this power indicator. Maybe I'll just try to discreetly cover it with tape.

I just received a Rolex as a present. I didn't realize that a Rolex needs to be constantly worn to keep it running. In a conversation with a colleague, he mentioned this watch winder. Now I can just wear the Rolex on special occasions and not worry about rewinding it. The unit is very attractive and very quiet. If you have a self-winding watch, this is the way to go.

simple mechanism - turns every so often. How can this be made so poorly? Looks nice and solid. Should last forever.

I’ve had three watch winders before this one since my wife and I bought our Rolex watches. Each of those have been noisy enough to be banished from the bedroom. The last one had a rub between two plastic parts which sounded like a bull frog. So I was very wary of buying any replacement for fear it would be as bad as the last three. So far this one has exceeded my expectations. When the box arrived I was impressed with the packaging - No cheap box with a little bit of tissue paper. This winder was very well packaged with plenty of shock absorbing material. The unit itself is really good looking. When I loaded it with our watches and turned it on there was no motor noise at all. There are 4 modes of operation, each with a different number of turns per day which probably doesn’t mean much to most of us but then they relate each mode to how much you wear your watch making it easy to choose a mode. The only minor issue is the blue LED which is on steady when running and blinks while it is between periods of turning. After the first night I covered the LED with a sticker provided in the box and it became a non-issue.I highly recommend this winder.

I have 2 of these now, bought one nearly two months ago. Boh work like a charm, I have them in my bedroom and there is no discernable noise. Currently have a Tag, Breitling, Muhle, and Rolex, all are maintaining time perfectly. The winders look really nice, nothing cheap looking about them. They do have very small led lights, but they send stickers you can use to cover them, if that bothers you at night.I don't have an issue with the lights at all, the watches really show well in the cases.I would highly recommend, if I have any issues with longevity I will follow-up, so far no complaints.
