Worth It: Eureka Mopvac VS. The Coco Powder Disaster
The media could not be loaded. Tl;dr I love this mopvac and think it's worth buying (or putting on your Christmas wish list at least).I bought this a little less than a month ago. My husband and I had spent a week or so ruminating on the decision, comparing all of the different brands and models and options, and looking at models in store. It was a bit of a gamble since it was still new to the market at the time, but we ended up choosing this one for the following reasons:-large tank capacities-self cleaning AND self drying-cordless-listed as up to an hour of run time-good price point for those options (~$270 at the time)I've used it for daily or every-other-day cleaning since then and I love it. I've never run the battery dead without trying, it's easy to clean and maintain, and it works. No, it's not going to scrub your floors, but it gets the every day dirt and crumbs and cat hair up and the floor dries within a minute or so. Great for daily cleaning. It's first REAL test came this morning when I accidentally dropped a thing of coco powder and it went everywhere. I didn't do any prep before tackling the mess besides refilling the mopvac's clean water tank. You can see in my pictures and videos the before, during, mopvac clean up, and after. It didn't pick everything up in the first pass of course, but you can see how much was done in two minutes as well as the final result (which took about 5 minutes total). Needless to say, IT WORKED.The mopvac's dirty tank needs to be cleaned each use, and this was also a good test for how that system holds up. Just as a note, usually I wait until after the self cleaning is completed (~2 minutes) before dumping the dirty water tank because the dirty water tank will be collecting the brush's dirty water and that needs to be dumped too. I cleaned the dirty tank both before and after this time though to see what came from the floor and what came from the brush separately. All of the pieces (tank, tank lid, filter, and filter basket) rinsed off very easily despite being caked with coco powder and chocolate sludge. I did use soap and a bottle brush on the tank this time around but I don't think I really needed to and I never have before. I wish I could add more videos because I took videos of me rinsing each piece and putting them back together. Clean time: ~5 minutes.I also took a video of the self cleaning mode and am unable to upload it, but believe me when I tell you that the amount of chocolate water that came off the brush during self cleaning is impressive. I'm sure more will be coming out with subsequent washes, but the fact that I don't need to replace the mop brush entirely after that mess is enough to make me happy. So pros after buying and using it:-self cleaning and drying is a blessing-the battery life really is great-daily or a couple times weekly use keeps the floors looking great-good vacuum power-held up to a coco powder explosion without the mop brush or filter sponge getting destroyed-genuinely easy to maintain, only about 5 minutes with of dumping, rinsing, and putting back together after each use-you might feel it in your arm and shoulder if you use it for an hour straight, but it really is light weight and easy to maneuver-easy to dock and store-sized right to get under cabinet and fridge lips-floors dry very quickly (I've accused it of not spraying before, only to find that it was but it was drying it thoroughly before I could see catch a glimpse of the floor wet)-talks to you, which I thought would be annoying but is actually really convenientLiterally the only cons I have:-doesn't scrub the floor by any means, so you'll still need to put some elbow grease into especially stubborn or sticky spots-it's supposed to be able to get right up to walls and edges and it certainly tries, but there's about a 1/4 inch that doesn't get truly mopped.

This is AMAZING!!!
Sat in box a while so finally pulled it out after holiday craze. VERY EASY to put together. Was just 3 parts and setting it in it's charging stand. Read the booklet to not mess anything up. Realized you can't just vacuum, you will always vacuum AND mop (unless you just don't fill the tank I suppose, not sure if you're supposed to).THE MOPPINGSo this tiny tank (probably has dimensions in description) I look at it and think "oh boy, probably going to need to go through a couple of these tanks. But NOPE. I put 3 caps of the detergent into the tank and filled it up with water. Easy cap back on, then half turn locks into the machine. It's self propel works great, don't have to put any force into it moving forward. As it moves forward it mostly just vacuums. Then when you pull it back, it mops and you can see the intensity is a bit stronger and the line of floor being mops.It gets dirt up GOOD. Any hair--sucked right in. Big piece of material--sucked right in. And when you mop there is no streakiness like the mop is pulling too dirty of a cloth over the floor not really cleaning it.So I do hallway, dining room, living room, this large area in between that just serves as an open space office, and kitchen, paying special attention to the problem areas. And it does it BEAUTIFULLY!! Floor is spotless.I look at the tank and it's only HALF USED!! I'm like, whaaaat?? This beautiful clean and it barely used half this small tank??THE AFTER CLEANING.It's so easy to clean. First let it run it's self clean cycle (uses a bit more water in tank so make sure there is some for this). Once it's done and dry you just snap the small waste tank out. The physical debris is clumped together and can be trashed, and the waste water is in the bottom easy to dump. It's a very quick rinse and lay out to dry. You can very easily open the brush and pull it off, get the hair off it (comes with a tool to help) and wipe the slot with a cloth. BAM all DONE!!This thing is worth every dollar. Be sure to do the self cleaning cycles and the very easy cleaning. This thing is worth the very hassle free upkeep of cleaning after every use to be sure it lasts a while.

Wet Dry Vac
Eureka is a name everybody associates with quality vacuums. That's why I bought the Eureka Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner with Self Cleaning when I was looking for a unit to replace my old floor vacuum. I originally needed just a vacuum but was pleased to find that this unit is also a floor mop. So now I replaced 2 tools with just one unit. As a vacuum it's light weight, easy to maneuver and picks up everything in one pass. As a mop it does my entire apartment one one tank of cleaning solution and a single charge. Everything is controlled and indicated on a single LCD display. Just top off the cleaning solution tank and vacuum and mop away. When you're finished just empty out the catch tank and dock the unit on the charging dock. Once docked just set it to self clean and it'll clean and dry itself and be ready for your next task. If need be the roller is easily removed to be cleaned by hand to remove hair or other stubborn particles. This vac/mop works great and even mops right up against the wall. I'm really pleased with it especially considering I was only in search of a simple vacuum. Now I get to do 2 jobs with a single tool.
