I'm a great big fan of this great little fan.
After spending a ridiculous amount of time researching floor mounted fans for my office in the attic, I chose this one. Opinions are always very subjective and people are prone to leave poor reviews over good ones, so I deliberated long and hard having read mixed reviews of many contending products. You're probably most interested in the amount of noise this little fella emits, which is where your fear of buying the wrong (noisiest) is focused? One persons too loud, too salty, too sweet, too anything is not helpful, so I'll sum up my review by saying it's fine. Don't worry, this fan is powerful yet sufficiently quiet. If you need to use the highest setting, you'd be prepared to sacrifice degrees of silence to achieve the sufficient quantity of moving air anyway! Being in the attic, my office can get overly warm in the summer, and this fan moves air around very efficiently.I like the quality, value for money (£30 June 2020), modest size, modern finish, performance and noise level of this product, so save yourself time looking much further and give this guy a go!I hope you have found this review helpful, thanks for reading.Update: July 2020 - it seems this item has been reduced in price (to £26) and now only has two speeds instead of the three on the item I purchased. You may wish to consider this as the fan's flexibility has been significantly reduced with the absence of a third speed. Still a great fan and now even better value!

Cheap yet effective
I've now been using this for a month and haven't had any issues with it.- Cage comes apart with just 4 screws so easy to clean out dust and hair- Stand comes off with just 2 screws so if it ever become stiff it would be easy to grease up (haven't needed to yet but good to know)- Motor doesn't seem to have heating issues, I've had it on for 5+ hours without hot air blowing and the motor only being warm at the back - that being said it would be unwise to leave it on overnight- Great airflow. 1 is a mild breeze, 2 is what most people want out of a decent room fan, and 3 is stronger than you'd except for something of this size and price- It's by no means "silent" however I expected it to be louder than it actually is. 1 is quieter than my PC, 2 is slightly louder than my PC, 3 is just below a normal talking voice.- Pretty light and easy to move, however my walls are quite old and brittle so I won't be putting it on the wall as it's still a kilo or two.I've been using to improve airflow in rooms, cool down myself and electronics, and greatly improve airflow when air drying herbs.

Quiet and effective fan
The fan came with power leads for UK and euro. The fan is powered by a number-8 lead, so you could swap in your own plug if these aren't long enough. I found the power cable to be of a good length, although I found the placement of the socket on the fan (on the lower half of the back) to be slightly irritating for certain placements of the fan. The fan also came with wall-plugs and screws to secure the fan to a wall. The design was clearly such that the fan would balance on the screw heads on the wall and be easy to remove. I have yet to try wall mounting the fan. When I first turned the fan on, the first thing I noticed was the quietness - I could still hear my fridge over it.I would note that the noise difference when placed on a hollow surface rather than a more solid one is quite dramatic - putting the fan on my hollow bedside cabinet causes it to make far more noise than when placed on a solid desk.On the highest setting, the noise is fairly loud, but the volume of air moved is quite large and the fan can be felt across a medium sized room. I wouldn't need to use the highest setting for long periods at a time, as it quickly cools me enough for me to want to turn it down to the medium setting. The fan doesn't oscillate, meaning the fan has larger blades and can push a larger volumes of air when compared to a fan of similar overall proportions but which does oscillate. The fan provides a pleasant breeze regardless of setting, and having a barely audible fan running certainly helps to air the room without the noise affecting work done.Overall, I'd recommend this product as a quiet and effective fan.

Nice
Brought this back in 2020. It's 2025 as I'm writing this review. I use this product a lot, especially during hot summer months and it's still standing strong. It's become a little louder over the years but it's a gentle hum still. This is a lovely product, the design is nice and I'd say it stands the test of time

More or less satisfactory but could try harder.
Seems sturdy and looks good. It could be better, though. The fan is too noisy - even on the slowest speed setting. Its OK for an office or living room, but too noisy for a bedroom. The noise is partly the fan air-noise and partly the motor whine/hum. The lowest speed could be lowered so that It has less noise and I don't think I shall ever use the highest speed - which is too high to be useful except perhaps in an industrial setting. The fan and motor are well balanced, however, so the vibration level is low. The range of tilt available could be extended a little in the downwards direction and the retaining detente tightened-up. My final little gripe is that the rotary switch starts the fan in high speed and decreases it as it is turned further. I would consider it more user-friendly to start at the low speed end and work upwards.(I find it amusing that, of the three fans that I now have, the best is still my 30 or 40 year old Pifco fan, which gives a good air flow, but is the quietist of the lot. Anyone remember Pifco ? Haha).
