Just works
Charge it & pair it then go - works well with MacBook, looks great too. It is worth the money for a quality item with key actions similar to Mac wireless keyboard.

Great keypad but with potential quality concerns and a slightly high price.
I read all the reviews before I decided to take the plunge and buy one of these wireless keypads. There aren't many small, space grey, bluetooth keypads on the market in early 2019 (I wanted one that visually matched the 2018 MacBook Pro and was as small as possible) and having tried another brand that didn't cut the mustard I didn't feel I had much of a choice but give the Satechi keypad a go.The first one I received was poorly made and had a quite badly twisted aluminium frame so it wouldn't sit flat on the desk. Because of this the keypad rocked and it sounded awful when pressing keys which would vibrate with a nasty noise (see other people's video's to hear this). So I purchased a replacement Satechi keypad which also arrived slightly twisted, although not as bad as the first. I was able to very carefully manipulate the replacement keypad straight so it sat flat on the desk/granite worktop etc. and the nasty noise when typing mostly disappeared. As expected it's not as nice as the MacBook Pro's keyboard for sound or feel, but it's ok and the key travel distance is acceptable being about the same as the 2012-2016 Retina MacBook Pro and twice that of the 2016-2018 MacBook Pro's butterfly keys (which I was trying to match as best as possible).Other than the twisted metal frame (which is a lottery unfortunately) construction appears to be ok with a solid power switch and fairly robust feeling keys that, on early use, feel decent enough. The charge cable is good quality and the box and instructions are decent.Considering my experience I've given this product 3 out of 5 stars because of the unacceptable manufacturing defect (twisted aluminium frame) and the fact that, even in perfect order, I feel the product is overpriced by approximately £10 and should be closer to £29.99.UPDATE AFTER A YEARS USE: It's been all good for the past 12 or so months, in fact the numeric keypad has been great. The keypad still feels solid and nice to use with good key feedback. The battery has proven to last for months - literally - between charges and the signal has been perfect. The only issue is the price which I still think is slightly high.

Excellent
Very quick delivery, worked well, should charge first, but does not take too long, can pair before though, otherwise you have to wait to charge after the Bluetooth were paired and connected.

Unacceptable quality
The media could not be loaded. Perfect match with the Apple Magic Keyboard 2. Looks Great. But that's the good news. Key feeling comes nowhere near the way the Apple keyboard feels. Even worse there is a very noticeable difference between the left and the right keys. The + and Enter key are okey with a soft smooth click although the travel between pressed and unpressed key is almost double that of the Apple keyboard. Pressing the 4, 7 and Clear keys on the left side however produce a very unpleasant loud clicking making the whole sub-chassis underneath the aluminium top moving down. If you press the 4 key for example the 1, 7 and Clear go down as well. I did a comparison with a db Meter.Apple Keyboard < 32 dBEnter on the Satechi keypad = 42 dbPressing the 7 key on the Satech keypad = 53 dbI find the overal quality unacceptable at this price point !

Even I feel like I'm being to harsh
Even I feel like I'm being to harsh, awarding this keypad with just three stars; but bear me out, here.Firstly, to set the context: I had to order and return two other makes of key pad, which promised Mac compatibility, and then utterly failed to perform, due to wierd glitches and partial functionality. However, those other keypads were a third of the price of this one, and laden with secondary functions. This is a basic keypad, with nothing more stunning than a 'CLEAR' button which wipes the selected cell in excel. In its defence, I am at this point relieved to have a product which plugs into my Macbook, and all the keys do what they claim, without fault.I just feel short-changed, as a Mac user; having seen what is available for PC.Fair play, the unit is well built, has a good weight to it, matches the Macbook finish and connects instantly, through the bluetooth. You can even use it (over bluetooth) whilst it is plugged into a USB port, charging up, which is user friendly; as is the discrete power button. However, for £40, it would be great to have selectable back lighting (sacrificing battery life), and some extra functions, such as '=' and '( )' buttons, would just transform this as a product. It's the 21stC, and time for Mac peripheral manufacturers to stop fobbing us off with the illusion of scarcity. You want 5 stars? Then drop the price, or drag the functionality up to meet the price.

Works straight out of the box
Easily set up and works straight out of the box. Good for large amounts of numeric data entry.
