Q: Would it be safe a foot away from a tv on the wall?

Mine is 2' with no problem. There is not much if any heat coming from top end. I would not place tv below it as that is where heat comes out.

Q: I know this one comment where the lady says her electric bill spiked significantly is there anyone else, wall mounting do I have to buy what I need?

I think it depends on if there was no heat already in a room, so any heater on a thermostat would run alot more. I think the hardware is included. I am thinking of buying this for our travel trailer.
