excellent book
Lots of great and usuable recipes. The best TAPAS book I've come across. I'm very happy with my purchase. This book has everything the "Complete Charcuterie: Over 200 Contemporary Spreads for Easy Entertaining) " book has. The recipes are identical. spend a little more and get this book instead. I got both books at the same time and decided to send the charcuterie book back because of this. it's the same publisher and you get 200 more recipes with this book. One review knocks this book hard for traditional presentation and other stuff The book is all about recipes, you shouldn't care about presentation. that'd be a whole other boring book. First copy had a problem with the binding and pages were starting to come out. I checked this copy over and it appears fine. great pack job on amazon's behalf. arrived in new condition.

Not Really About Tapas
This is a big, handsome, profusely illustrated book but it should be titled Encyclopedia of Snacks/Small Bites. The recipes are really not Spanish, which is why I bought the book. Just as a couple of examples, neither challah bread nor corn dogs are ever likely to appear at a tapas bar anywhere in Spain! While “tapas” is a very expansive genre and almost anything can be a tapa there should be at least a bit of a nodding acquaintance with the foods of the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula. That’s not what you’ll find in this book. That said, you can certainly put together an appetizer party from this book. Just not in Spanish style! For that, look to books by Penelope Casas or Simone Ortega or José Andres.

More info would help.
Very nice book. Only wish it gave ten words for recipes to identify what it was.

The Title is misleading.
Tapas makes you think it spanish focus, and it is far from it. Not sure why a great deal of time is fiven to making breads. The recipes do not offer some sort of origin or hostory. By far not encyclopedic. As a chef I know where most of the dishes come from, but for the average reader it may not be cleared and it is a huge missed opportunity. The book could have explained or advise on how to mix and mat h the different recipes to make a great appetizer feast. Not worth the money and definitely not worth the title. I write this as a professional tapas chef who purchased the book as a reference point for my staff.

not really about tapas
Recipes were for standard entrees breads salads, nothing about spanish tapas related and some of the recipes were just wrong and not even how the item should be presented traditionally. ie the chiles en nogada and several others, i just pitched the book in the trash.

Great recipes and photos. Crappy binding.
All I could ask for as far as recipes and great pictures. Tons and tons of ideas. Great for chefs who do small plates. The physical quality of the book is poor. It’s flimsy and feels like it will not last long, especially in the hands of a chef.

Good book not tapas
They preface the book that they define tapas as finger foods, but I bought it expecting a book of Spanish tapas. A bit disappointed, but the recipes looks good

So many pictures!
This book has been a godsend for me. I love to cook and my favorite cookbooks are ones that are hardcover and have picture references. This book has both and an enormous amount of recipes from all different cultures and cuisines. Perfect for figuring out what to bring at parties or what to make for game night/sports. 10/10 reccommend
