Q: Does the walnut milk need to be refrigerated before opening

They don’t need refrigerating until they are opened. Then they say they last in the fridge for a week. But I have had them last longer.

Q: In the grocery store this is refrigerated. there are no preservatives so why do i read that this does not have to be refrigerated until opening?

I've been buying the six-pack Elmhurst unsweetened almond milk from Amazon for nearly a year. As stated on the carton, I only refrigerate after being opened... no problems. My local grocery store doesn't carry Elmhurst products, but my guess is your store keeps it in the cooler just so it's there with similar products.
