It's the good stuff
Good stuff, especially if you are committed to vegetarian values. Check your blood levels of omega-3. Mine are great.

Alertness alert! This is way better (for me) than I expected.
My personal experience:I mainly tried this because I am a vegetarian (about 20 years) and had read quite a bit about EPA/DHA. I did not expect quick results but I felt substantially more alert within a day or two. I have been taking two of these a day for about a month and continue to experience noticeably improved alertness. After about a week of starting to take the omega 3 supplement, I actually cut my coffee consumption (from 5 to 2 cups a day). I get to sleep faster than I used to (but that could be due to the reduced coffee consumption).Caveats and a couple of other thoughts:1. I'm a vegetarian. My wife isn't. She said she thought it helped, but I don't think she experienced the same level of immediate benefit that I did (but I notice that she's still taking them).2. If you are not a vegetarian, you may be able to get EPA/DHA from diet (e.g., salmon and a few other things you can look up on the internet) or you might want to consider fish oil.3. I do not like to take pills. I do take a couple of prescriptions, but the only other supplement I take is a multivitamin (but since I am a vegetarian, I do keep an eye on things like B-12 and iron levels -- both when I get my annual physical and iron whenever I donate blood).4. These are the results for a small sample. They may or may not generalize to a larger population (These two sentences might lead some of you to conclude that I am a statistician. Bingo.)5. I read a lot about this before giving it a try (as much as I could find).6. This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I've taken the time to review a product.Conclusions:1. Who knows if this will work for you? That said, I am really pleased with the product and its immediate effects. If the main benefit you are looking is alertness, my personal experience suggests that it might not take very long for you to know whether or not it works for you. I really can't (personally) say much about other stated benefits.2. I haven't talked to my doctor yet, but I will (and you probably should too). I have a regular appointment (with a neurologist) coming up in a few weeks and will definitely be asking him what he thinks. I'll try to remember to update this then.3. I've have purchased a second bottle and plan to purchase a third shortly after opening the second. Absent doctor's orders to quit or some negative consequence I don't expect, I plan on using for the rest of my life.Update April 2019: My appointment with my doctor isn't until next month (and I'll have more to say then)but I have an additional comment. In my first review, I noted that I had dropped from 5 to 2 cups of coffee per day. I do like the taste of coffee but I have switched to decaffeinated. I read a fair amount (usually 3 - 12 hours a day) and used to have to drink coffee while I read (and that 5 cups a day was probably an underestimate, especially on days I read more than 4-5 hours). I just don't need any caffeine (drinking decaffeinated tea too) to feel awake and alert. As JB would put it, "I feel good ...").

Out of 4 major Algae Oil players, so far this one has been the best experience.
So far, this is "the best" EPA/DHA Algae oil product I have come upon. I have taken 3 more-well-known brands than this one, and have had issues with quality control large enough to cause me to continue my search. For my experience with 2 of those, I used at least 3 bottles, and the issues that I recall might have been outside of their initial control (broken softgels and the very fishy experience of managing taking majority of unbroken ones). And the 3rd unacceptable product experience had to do with you not receiving the amount that you paid for and that the bottle was labeled for, in the order of 10% or so less (Ovega. Read the Reviews). One such little area is "fishy after-burp". I don't know think I ever switched "because" of that, and admittedly I have learned some techniques to reducing/eliminating that, such as taking the supplement in more or less the middle of your meal. But at the risk of giving you a false sense of perfection, this first batch of Algae Oil has never provided me with the dissatisfaction of a fishy afterburp, which I think is pretty remarkable. And I know the product works because my blood gets thinner after I take it (a fish oil phenomenon).I still always try to take this in the center of my meal, but there have been a number of times that I simply forgot and took it at the end, or out of eagerness, took it closer to the beginning of my meal. But ne'er a fishy afterburp. If you have a fishy afterburp with this supplement, consider it par for the course and "please do not ding any stars because of it," for there are many many other challenges you could be having with your product apart from your body not hiding from you the fact that you ingested the essence of a marine lifeform.I will soon be starting my second bottle, 4-5 months after the first purchase. My concerns are, will the soft-gels have made it through the heat of the summer intact?(Update: August 20, 2018)Into my second bottle. Same quality, and the bottle made it to me through the summer shipping without any having burst inside the bottle.
