I had gigabit internet connection installed at home. BT Openreach installed a ONT device. The device needed a mains connection, which was not convenient where the box was installed.I use Power Over Ethernet (POE) at home, so I looked at if there was a way to use POE to have a single cable to provide the data connection and the power to the BT ONT device.This device delivered exactly the solution that I needed. One data cable, with a POE injector, going to this device and a single cable (which is supplied in the box) going to the ONT device. It has been working for 6 months with zero issues.Please make sure you set the correct output voltage (12V). Also please check the ONT power supply is 12V, in case its gets changed.

This PoE splitter is brilliant. I use it to power a Raspberry Pi CM4 carrier board which acts as my modem. I also (against advice, but I looked at power ratings & it's in tolerance) wired my optical network terminal to the second power outlet. My PoE switch is connected to a UPS so in the event of a black out my modem and ONT are kept running so I can at least still use WiFi on tablet or phone.Highly recommended.
