Size of a keyring, but a useful gadget
I managed to sharpen several pairs of scissors with this sharpener and I am impressed with the results. The only downer is that the sharpener is a bit pricey for its size, but it's Fiskars and I have seen this item sold elsewhere for a lot more money than what I bought it for.

Best for Fiskars scissors. Check the bevel angle of your scissors!
Works best on fiskars scissors, anything else will be luck of the draw. Comparing the bevel angle of various scissors to the sharpener i had 3 pairs that looked like they would work. A Fiskars pair and 2 cheap pairs 1 from lidl and one from ikea. They fiskers pair sharpened quickly and easily. The lidl pair sharpened 1 blade well but the other didnt sharpen. Had success sharpening eack blade individualy. The ikea ones looked like they would work but it just rolled the edges of the scissors. So, yeah...Maybe just use them for fiskars shears to be on the safe side.

Not the same as the old model at all!
Years ago I bought a small, rectangular scissor tuner from Fiskars which described itself as "The best scissor tuner you will ever use or your money back!". Well, it was. I used it for years as when it was sadly lost I bought this one to replace it.The old model was about the same size, but the slot and the sharpening bar were made of metal - steel I think. You slid your scissors across the bar as if you were closing them and in a few passes, voila, sharp scissors and it even straightened the blades up too! Great stuff. This is not that tuner. The bar is now made of a ceramic, which wouldn't be bad, but there is no 'slip' and the blades jag on the bar; it is impossible to make a smooth closing motion to sharpen the scissors. The sides of the slot are plastic, which overlaps the bar so that you're closing your blades on plastic as well as ceramic. I can see the streaks of metal left on the ceramic so it is taking metal off ... but not leaving it sharper. It isn't possible to smoothly pull back the scissors and the resultant jerky motion has wrecked the scissor blades. I have stainless steel scissors that now refuse to snip a thin piece of wool.I miss that little orange rectangle.

little bit fiddly to use, but did a great job
I used this as a last attempt to save some old scissors my Dad had used for cutting metal wire. It's done a great job, the scissors aren't quite perfect (they were wrecked) but they're perfectly useable again.

It's OK, doesn't really fix scissors though.
This does definitely sharpen the blades of a pair of scissors , but if you have a pair that aren't cutting properly this doesn't seem to help. I have 2 pairs of scissors that don't cut properly, and I tried this on both pairs and whilst it does sharpen the individual blades, the scissors still don't cut, so this was a waste of money, I should have just spent the money on some new pairs of scissors. But it's small and fits on a keyring so if you need something portable to sharpen knives with this would probably work.
