Excellent replacement for Mazda Miata antenna
Excellent replacement for stock antenna. Sleek, appears durable, great build quality. No dropoff or negative effects on radio reception or signal strength. Highly recommended A++++!

Stubby antenna
Purchased this for my 2018 Mazda 3 after noticing my stock antenna was flaking apart and not in good shape visually, although it still worked.New antenna arrived promptly and was a good price. Was about three inches shorter than stock (knew that in advance) and threaded easily the first couple of turns, but then faced a bit of resistance. Could have left it with some threads exposed, but wouldn't have looked right.Continued to tighten it and applied too much sideways torque and popped the antenna base off the roof. Plastic bolt holes of the antenna base (not product) separated from roof base, not necessarily the fault of the antenna, but would suggest caution if you attempt a similar situation. Perhaps lube the threads a touch. Just super glued the base parts back together and hope all is well.Radio reception is perfect on the stations I regularly listen to.Again, no real issues, just words of caution when installing it, so 5 stars!

Must have ND upgrade
completely change the look for your ND Miata! the ugly original antenna is super easy to replace (screw on screw off). reception is ok, but primarily use carplay so not an issue for me

works as advertised
Screwed it in the other day and there is no noticeable reception difference to the OEM antenna. I will be looking to replace the antenna on my truck with the same. I do recommend.

Looks nice but it's a compromise on signal strength
Looks nice but it definitely has worse radio reception than the OEM antennae. Several of the FM stations that I used to be able to hear at my house became very staticky. But I'm still willing to live with the compromise since this antennae looks much nicer than the OEM and I don't listen to FM that much anymore anyways. Helps if you use a car cover as well (previously had to bend the OEM antennae to make it fit). Quality is nice and very easy to install.

Poor Reception
Noticed an immediate and drastic reduction in reception as someone who lives in a rural area. I don’t care because I don’t listen to the radio and utilize a Bluetooth FM transmitter currently, so I’d be happy with a flat cap over the antenna bracket so long as my phone could still stream to the radio. In fact, this antenna increased the number of frequencies I could use to tune to the Bluetooth fm transmitter, so all the better. If I decide to swap out the factory head unit for something aftermarket and want to maintain good radio reception I would probably get a different antenna. But honestly, if I did that, I would just want wireless Apple car play / Android auto, so the antenna still wouldn’t matter. So if you are in the digital age and value appearance over radio reception, this is an upgrade.
