Q: Would this work on a Sunrace 8 speed casette? I am trying to upgrade from Box 4 8 speed derailleur.

Yes. As long as the cassette is 46t, it will work. You’ll need the long cage if that’s an option. You will also need the shifter. Box shifters will not work with shimano derailleurs. I have to say…my daughter has a box 8 drive. The 10 speed Shimano is equivalent in performance.

Q: Can I shift with an 11-50 T cassette?

The most it will take is 11-46 T
