Vaillant Ecotec Plus Diverter Valve Repair Cartridge 0020020015 0020132682

i thought the cartridge came with the installation tool so I needed to order again. Fortunately delivery was <1 day.Original diverter valve part no was 0020061516 but 0020132682 was also compatible with my very old ecotec plus 824 VUW 246/3-5. Needed to do a bit of googling and crossing of fingers....getting the old one out was a bit of a struggle, a lot harder than on the youtube video, and I ended up breaking off the locking tabs to get it out. Not a big deal as the old cartridge is discarded. if the diverter valve is leaking the odds are it's very old and brittle and held in by corrosion.New one seems fine and was reasonably easy to fit. Quite hard to get the spring tabs to ping out to lock it in place. Leak has stopped and boiler works a lot better. i think the valve had not been working properly for a long time!Central heating firm was going to charge me £500 for this plus a clogged filler valve but I've actually managed to fix both for <£50. I don't have a problem with DIY on water side of boiler - BUT DON'T TOUCH THE GAS/BURNER OR FLUE!!!!
