Best Option For Controlling Garage Heater That I Could Find!!!
If you want to upgrade your garage heater’s thermostat then this is an excellent option! There were three features needed for my upgrade and it took me a ton of research to land on the T3. My work - your gain :-)1 - A low heat set point. We have many months of freezing temperatures. I don’t have a need or desire for a warm garage. I just want to keep things from freezing so I shoot for heating to the high 30’s. LUX and most others have a minimum heat setting of 45. The T3 allows for 32 F. You can also program a maximum allowable setting if you want - I set that limit at 50.2 - Power loss memory. My previous digital thermostat twice had power hiccups and reset the heat to a default 68 degrees. Big waste and ran up my gas bill!3 - Battery as primary power option.Any thermostat that accepts batteries will run off batteries but may merely be designed for batteries as a backup. The T3 states batteries can be the primary power source. Most garage heaters I have seen were installed with two conductor wire so no 24vac to the thermostat. I don’t want to pull a new wire!If by chance I run into issues over time I will update this review. At this point (installed today) the T3 appears to be a solid build and checks all of the boxes I need to keep things from freezing in my garage.

Missing option "303" and misleading information about “Cycle Rate”
(1) In option setting missing “303 = Auto Changeover Differential”.(2) In option setting misleading information about “Cycle Rate” right way should be “Anticipator” like it was in old mechanical thermostat.Search on “YT” for (How a thermostat works part 4 what is cycle rate and why should I care?).It is depend of how good insolated the house, how big the HVAC and thermostat location. My advice for longevity of the HVAC; set “Cycle Rate” to 1, if temperature swing too much increase the rate.

Quality for the price!
Bought two thermostats, one was a simple two wire just for a side furnace and the other was 5 wire system for my main furnace. Both easy to install and work great. Simple installation and instructions tp follow. Defiantly worth the upgrade.

Finally, a thermostat whose light can be set to "ON"
MY thermostat is in a long hallway lit from the middle. The light falls tangent to the screen, so the temp and setting are only legible if you poke it to light up the screen. It's as stupid as having a wall clock that only gives the time when you poke it! None of the other thermostats on Amazon admit to being able to have the light stay on all the time (not, of course, when your house power is off and the battery is being used to keep the electronics alive). By looking at the online installation manuals I found that this one has such a setting. Since it was replacing an older but otherwise identical Honeywell thermostat, no rewiring was required in this case... I just pulled off the old one and plugged the new one onto to the wiring board. One surprise: I was ready to send it back. While cycling through the settings, the continuous light option was not available! It turns out that this option is visible only when the thermostat is getting power from the furnace rather than just from the battery. I turned the circuit breaker back on and there it was. Works perfectly and the brightness is adjustable.

Simple thermostat
Our serviceman suggested a T3 because it was digital and easy to read and easy to adjust temperature and from heat to cool. He had no problem removing our original 50 year old thermostat and installing this one. We have not adjusted the temperature since it was installed 30 days ago. The larger numbers on the screen is just what we needed.

Easy and good
Fast easy install and it works great- digital is much nicer to look at than those old dial thermostats.

The thermostat broke after 3 months of installation.
I liked this product, at first. We had it installed and used it for 3 months. We shut the heat off for the season and when we went to turn it back on for the fall, it didn’t work. I called Honeywell tech support, and it was decided that the thermostat was broken. The agent told me to return the product, because there’s a 5 year warranty. However, Amazon has a 30 day return policy. To say that I’m disappointed with this product is an understatement.
