Q: Can I use this on my 5 year old, he has bumpy arms too.

I haven't seen anything that says it CAN'T be used on children. My 10 year old & I both use it.

Q: how long before you start seeing results with keratosis pilatis?

I started seeing results within a week of using it. It suggest 2x a day however I only use it at night before bed.

Q: My lotion contains tons of what appear to be tiny plastic particles. Is this common for others who have purchased this lotion?

Hi, the lotion does not contain plastic particles. However, because of the chemistry of salicylic acid, some crystallization may occur when the pH is below 4 (we formulated this lotion below ph of 3.5 to make it as effective as possible). The crystals are harmless and just a solidified form of salicylic acid.

Q: Does it get worse at first

I can't speak to bumps, but you'll probably be a bit more red the first few days because 15% GA is relatively strong. Just remember you cannot wear it in the sun without proper protection.
