I got this to see what the voltage was and amp draw was from my power supply that powers 2 ham radios and 1 cb radio. I originally wired it up to be powered off the circuit I was measuring. It seemed accurate at first, however when I would key one radio up it would measure 9.7 amps. To see how much 2 radios pulled I keyed 2 up at the same time and it dropped to 3amps. Wired it up using an external power supply and now the amps are dead accurate. I would order a small 12V wall wart power supply that comes with a hard wire adapter. I just happened to have one already and it works perfect.

There were two shunts and circuit boards in my kitWhen I plugged in first one and wired correctly the voltage was reading correct but amps were maxed out at over 54.x AI tried to turn the pot to trim it, and it fell right off the solder on the board.I figured one left, cross fingers, and voltage was off about .1V so i trimmed it and got it correct, then the Amps were zero, and when i tried trimming it, it was hung on zero no matter how far I turned it with 2A load (according to fluke and power supply) so can only guess bad QA or bad design on these.Save yourself some time, I won't buy again.

I put them in a plastic case and monitor the current my inverters use. It tells me what the battery voltage is so I got a pretty good idea how much charge I have left and how much current that I'm using.

I ordered these 2 units in 2021, I installed one right away and it worked fine. The 2nd one I installed today and I burned up the small black wire.I used the shunt on the power side of the circuit instead of the ground side of the circuit. I assumed the black wire needed to go to the ground (negative side) so that indicator had a power and ground.Does the shunt have to go to the ground (neg) side for it to work properly?I had a lot of smoke and burned insulation on the small black wire, so I probably burned up the unit as well?

Worked as expected.

I use these to see the power from my radio power supply. One at the supply and one at the radio tells me if I have a voltage drop in the wire.

The meters worked just only one way. Both voltage and current were accurate enough and both had a pot to calibrate if you have the source. The problem is that the current reading is one direction only. Reverse current shows up as a Zero value. The load current shows cut the charging current doesn't.At least I got 2 shunts that I can reuse.
