Yummy, like lemonade mochi
This is so yummy. I love mochi, both regular and frozen, and thankfully this is as good as they normally are. I know some people are put off by the texture because it's almost gummy, but a little softer than actual gummies. The lemon custard filling is both tart and sweet. I will have to get these again.

The Flavor Must Be An Aquired Taste!
This is a great seller to purchase mochi from, I have adored almost every flavor I've ordered. I decided to try this one out and it turns out it's not as accessible to the taste buds as the others. If you are expecting this to be sweet turn back now!The lemon custard filling does have the taste of a very light lemon, however the "custard" flavor is lost. Or maybe it is their vision of custard, either way it probably won't work for most of the usual sugar eaters. The outside mochi casing is similar to the more hard jelly-like that the usual fruit mochis have, but without any rough texture. It is a simple, recognizable rice flavor, not bad at all. The combination of both leaves you with a waning bitter aftertaste. I am no adept, but this mochi would probably be MUCH better eaten alongside tea or coffee not by itself. To reiterate if you plan on purchasing this flavor of mochi, I suggest having it accompany something sweet (if that's your thing) or a drink. Take small bites so the flavor is not as strong, and savor it.

Not Custard But Very Yummy Nonetheless.
These are advertised as having a custard filling but the filling is very firm and slightly gelatinous. It's not a bad thing as it works really well with the outer layer of mochi. My 2 room mates and I really enjoyed these. The flavor is light and very pleasant; it is not overly sweet but definitely sweet enough. I only gave them 4 stars because calling it custard is misleading, but for what it actually is it is a 5 star for me. If you don't mind a slight gummy texture and are not expecting candy level sweetness you will probably really like these.

Worse than awful
I love mochi, and I love all the other flavors I have tried so far from Royal Family, but these lemon ones are absolutely terrible. The mochi layer is at least 50% thinner than their other flavors, and the lemon inside is way too sweet & runny. It tastes like an overly sweetened lemon curd, with a clear yellow liquid that has separated from the curd inside. Try one of Royal Family's other flavors, and avoid this lemon at all cost. Their red bean, black sesame, taro, and peanut ones are the ones I would recommend.

Perfect treat
Pillow soft, just the right amount of sweet without being candy. Excellent flavor.

Usually it’s amazing, but this time was terrible
Call Malay when I order these, I get perfectly soft stretchy Mochi with delicious lemon custard in the middle. I ordered three packages this time and ALL THREE were absolutely horrible! They were hard, the dough is way too thick, you couldn’t squish it at all and the inside was curdled an oily. It’s like someone popped them in the microwave for three or four minutes before shipping them out. It’s absolutely horrible. I can’t even finish eating them. The reason I’m leaving such a horrible review when my other two experiences were positive is because the last two times I only ordered one package. At this point 3 of them were absolutely horrible and two of them were pretty good. I just have another package of them being delivered today, so I will update my review if that one is acceptable. I also would like to give negative stars for the return policy because all three of these that I ordered were completely an edible. They were disgusting and I have to eat the cost because Amazon won’t let me return it or get a refund of any kind
