Very nice telephoto zoom lens! This is made by Vivitar and the optics and casing seem to be very good quality. Although the picture above doesn't show it, the lens comes with a nice padded carrying case as shown in my picture. Everything fitted perfectly with my Nikon D3100 camera, but when I mounted it on my $40 tripod it rocks like a seesaw or a baby cradle and it dares to move when you look at it wrong.....I have a cheap tripod, LOL, so I need to upgrade that otherwise I will NEVER get a good still picture with this much power. And, you will definitely need to get a shutter release remote to prevent any movement from your fat finger on the Shutter Release no matter how careful you are.....I have one by Nikon and it works perfectly. The back threads on the lens and the 2X Teleconverter are really fine and thin, so when you connect the T-Adapter or the 2X Teleconverter, you must use care and patience when screwing them on. There is no electrical contacts to communicate with the camera, so you must set your camera to "Manual" mode and adjust the Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO Sensitivity, and Focus yourself. Overall, I love this lens for the price!

The scope does exactly what it is intended to do...long range photos via tripod

The lens is excellent It is exactly What Big Mikes said it would be. I had a question and emailed Big Mikes and was set to wait for a few days for an answer 5 minutes i got a call from them, the question was taken care of then and there. Very Professional People to work with.

I knew it would be a challenge to use. After all, an auto focus lens of this size would cost as much as a car. But I was ultimately unable to get sharp photos, so this lens is now a doorstop. I guess I should have known it was too good to be true.

I read some reviews and knew what I was getting. It's got a great zoom capability, but is difficult to focus. The tripod mount doesn't stay tight to the body so when a movement is made on the tripod head, then tightened, then you let go of the camera, it moves slightly and when you've got this kind of zoom you're likely going to lose the subject of the image. Aperture is a constant f8 so not a very bright lens.
