Love this story!
First let me say I read all the negative reviews and some aren’t worthy of the space. Quite a few complained about the sex, language and rough bedroom scenes. ITS AN EROTICA ADULT ROMANCE YOU IDIOTS!!! You have done no one any favors by spouting your uninformed notions about a subject you don’t like to begin with! You have lowered the rating on a fabulous book written by a successful talented author. I don’t like horror novels, so I don’t read them and I would never, never be so vindictive to write a review on something I don’t like or understand. Congratulations, you did. Did you not take the time to research what you were buying? Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course, but I would hope people would use this right responsibility and not damage others by their insufferable ignorance.I loved everything about this book. The majority of the action was between the H/h only. There was no present danger, crime or violence in the book. It was full of the right amount of angst, confusion, love and eventually trust. As normal with Ms Landish, her prose flows so effortlessly that reading her words is a pleasure. (Some authors are awkward and the thoughts don’t flow gently over the page.) This story is about how miscommunication can change the path of your life in the blink of an eye. Both the H/h each had the chance to put things to right but instead chose to believe what they saw rather than ask for an explanation and wasted 10 yrs of their life. As any loving parent would feel the h said she never regretted events because she got Cooper and he was definitely worth it all.Everything is perfect in this book. I’m so glad I read this as it remindes me how important certain things are and how easy it is to take them for granted. Thank you Lauren. Job well done.

this was a pretty good read
This is the first installment of the Tannen Series that spun off of the Bennett brothers series and it was a pretty good read. I enjoyed delving into the softer side of Bruce/Brutal Tannen in this second chance romance story with the return of Allyson his former high school sweet heart. I enjoyed the story and I thought that the characters were well written despite their issues and troubled past. I did think that at times, this story did drag out and rambled in places but overall it was a good book that I would recommend to others.

Believable Characters + Plausible Plot + Nice Narrative Style = Great Novel
So, I’m plowing through and enjoying Lauren Landish’s novels the same way I plow through and enjoy tacos – both so yummy!“Rough Love” is no exception – as with Ms. Landish’s other novels, she blends just the right dashes of humor, angst, romance/tasteful erotica, and (sometimes) suspense with large cupsful of natural and believable dialog, pleasant and readable narrative style, and in-depth character development. She has quite a recipe for success going, and I selfishly hope Ms. Landish continues writing for decades to come (because I may soon read everything in her catalog!).Warning for readers: Those who have experienced domestic violence – especially psychological/emotional abuse – may find some aspects of this novel upsetting (or, alternately, cathartic) because Ms. Landish’s portrayal of such abuse is very accurate. I would still recommend the novel for sensitive readers, but would suggest skipping most of Chapter 29 – picking up the last page and a half or so of that chapter would allow you to experience the feel-goods and avoid anything triggering. Good news is that there IS a happily-ever-after.

What a great second chance at love story.
Bruce Tannen aka Brutal as he is known as on the football field is the lead man in this story. It starts when Bruce is driving in his truck on the way home and he glances out the window at the football field and he notices 2 boys picking on a littler guy and he stops to investigate. There he meets a group of 10 year olds practicing on the field. The little guy he finds out is a pretty spunky kid and his name is Cooper. While watching the boys the coach comes over to talk to Bruce to see what's going on. He recognizes Bruce from his past football legend and he asks Bruce if he wouldn't mind helping with the team. He goes by the name Coach B to the kids. When Cooper goes home all he can do is tell his mom, Allison all about practice and Coach B. After a few days Allison decides she wants to check out their practice and meet Coach B. When she comes to practice with Cooper she sees the coaches talking and realizes Coach B is none other than her first love. But she left him when she moved away and went to college. She found someone else and had a child with him. Now divorced and a single mom things get real interesting. What happens when these two get together? Can they find love again and can Bruce love Allison and Cooper as a joint team? I wanted to keep reading this one. Great story by Lauren Landish. Definitely a must read story and I need to keep reading about the Tannen boys.
