Q: What length is the nato strap?

Good question. The strap lengths vary greatly. They assume that a watch this size in mm diameter is going on a big wrist like 7” and beyond. If your wrist is 7” diameter you can bet it will fit well. Mine is 7.25 inch and this watch fits perfect. Note the lume brightness is almost non existent on this model.

Q: Can you see the dials at night? Can't tell if the hands illuminate.

This watch does have lum but because of the blacked out markers and hands the lum doesn't last that long. The bezel doesn't have any lum either.

Q: If it has an automatic movement, why does the description say it requires a battery?

This watch has the Seiko in house automatic mechanical 4R36 movement. It has a 40 hour power reserve and operates at 21,600 beats per hour. You can see from the case back that it is all mechanical and does not utilize a battery.
