I have been wearing darn tough socks since 2017 and I still have the original ones I bought almost 8 years ago. The fit is snug so your feet are not sloshing around in your shoes when you wear them. I guess you could wear a pair out, but I have not been able to do that and they have a lifetime guarantee. Best sock for hiking and outdoor wear that I’ve had.

Full-grain leather boots don't breathe well, so these socks are a godsend with how good they are at odor control and sweat wicking. This is especially true in the summer; they are surprisingly good at keeping your feet from feeling overheated despite the heavier wool construction. They're comfortable, too. I've spent up to 10 hours a day wearing these socks with my boots and not once did my feet feel sore or blister by the end. Because of how thick they are, you might need to size up by 1/2 in whatever shoes you might wear with these, but from my experience I have had no trouble wearing the same size boots. My only gripe is that the toe box often feels a little tight after a long time of walking, but if you pull it away from the toes by an eighth of an inch or so the problem basically disappears. With the lifetime warranty, these are pretty much the only socks I'll ever need for doing work and outdoor recreation.

I have always bought cheap packaged socks, only replacing them when they get holes, never seeing the point of spending so much money on a single pair. In fact, I go barefoot around the house and am not even a fan of socks. That said, while these Darn Tough socks are expensive, I have to say that these are the best socks I have ever worn in my life. I've bought more after the first ones left such a great impression. After wearing them in a bit, they have naturally formed to my foot and feel really good on me. I think they make a great gift, and I never thought I would say that about socks.

I wear an 8 in men’s, and M was too big. Great socks, but please learn from my mistake. Check the wool content on the pairs you buy. Go for the high % merino wool. Some socks have little or no wool. Read the fine print. Ultimately, you’re paying for the wool%. That’s what you want. Lifetime returns, but you must pay for shipping g to send to their warehouse in Vermont now. So make it count, send at least 3 pairs at a time probably and get new ones every few years or so. Blessings!
