Simply Amazing camping knife.
Simply Amazing....This knife has everything you need for backpacking or camping. It is lightweight and easy to carry in your pocket. It only has the important features you need for camping: Large easy open blade for cutting and splitting wood; bottle opener; great can opener for your soup and beans; tweezers for removing ticks; corkscrew for your wine; reamer for making holes on things. There is another version with a saw but I don't really need that for camping. Great quality... I don't have to worry about the steel bending or rusting like some cheap Chinese knockoffs. Oh, best of all, no screw drivers on this model. I can' think of anything in my camping gear that requires removing screws.

Lefties beware - bottle opener is in the way of single handed open feature.
*edit 2020-01-23*Upgraded to 5 stars. The left-handed issue is a minor one. you just have to get used to modifying your technique a little. I use this as my EDC tool and I love it. It's solid and has pretty much every tool I'd need in a pinch, and not really anything you don't need. Great grip and I love the locking blade feature as well as the one handed opening. As is the case with all Victorinox tools, build is top notch as is fit and finish. This will easily become your favorite pocket tool.original review: 3 starsThis is a fantastic knife - it's hefty, solid, a nice size for those of us with orangutan hands, rubberized for sure grip and generally the quality you'd expect from a Victorinox knife. I like the badge being the lock release - it's a nice touch. Why three stars? I'm left-handed and the bottle opener blocks access to the single-hand open feature. You can't get enough leverage with your left thumb to flip the blade open without lifting the bottle opener. If you do that, you'll run the ball of your thumb along the edge of the blade. No bueno. The trekker doesn't have this issue. If I dig my fingernail under the catch, I can manage to flip the blade open - maybe with practice It won't be such a big deal. Maybe if you have smaller thumbs than I do, it won't be an issue. Certainly if you're right-handed, it won't be an issue. Also, the badge is on the right side only, making the lock release slightly awkward for lefties. Otherwise, I absolutely love this knife!

What can I say? It’s a Swiss Army knife!
Great product. I wish I had ordered the one with the “mini saw”

It Isn't Green/Black...But not a big deal
While the knife I ordered was advertised as green/black, and the tag on the bubble wrap said green/black, the box definitely indicted the knife inside was red/black, and the knife I received was a red/black Swiss Army Ranger grip.Aside from an incorrect label, the knife I received is genuine Swiss Army, and is perfect in every other respect. I like the feel and handiness of the knife. The handle fits well. The liner securely locks the blade in place. All the tools snap into place as they should. Fit and finish are of the high quality expected from Victorinox. I love the one handed capability along with the positive locking of the super-sharp blade. This knife has a much larger blade than the typical pocket knife. This is a very handy and utilitarian tool. I like it a lot. As far as the color goes..meh, who cares. The bottom line: great tool, reasonable price, and highly recommend.

great edc knife with a corkscrew and a usefully large blafe
great knife. I needed a more dedicated knife than my leatherman and less cumbersome than the bk2. this knife got the bill well it's both large enough to be useful and not so large that people assume I'm there to conquer their village as far as edc goes. the corkscrew is a great addition as in my experience it's the most likely tool that can't be found in a pinch. be sure not to sharpen the very bottom of the blade where it is flat as that the section the threats on the stop when it is closed. be mindful when opening the corkscrew and awl on the opposite side of the blade as the a tion lifts the tip of the blade ever so slightly when they are actuated. not a large amount but the tip gets exposed enough that it could damage your hand in the orocess

Excellent tool
This knife has become my constant companion on the farm. I use it multiple times a day for a wide variety of purposes. You can't beat these knives for service and reliability. If gifing, be aware that this model is fairly large. Give it to someone who wears jeans with good pockets, and has frequent use for this type of multitool.
