Two CDs and 24 tracks from the weightiest of the '80s synth-pop combos! Includes Shout; Head over Heels; Sowing the Seeds of Love; Everybody Wants to Rule the World; Mothers Talk (U.S. remix); Change; Woman in Chains (with Oleta Adams); Advice for the Young at Heart, and more. The first compilation to follow Tears for Fears from it's 1980s heyday to it's 21st-century comeback, the two-disc Gold set deftly charts the British band's career course.

Tears For Fears Great Mixes, Great Songs!
I remember hearing Tears For Fears on the radio in the 80's and always dismissed their music as too commercial. I have rediscovered this band and am enjoying it today! Roland Orzabal has such a powerful voice and is a great songwriter as i have come to appreciate. Some of their music is like The Beatles on steroids at least that is my take. It took me a while but I like Tears For Fears and this CD a lot!

Opportunity missed
I was initially happy to find out that Tears for fears has a two cd collection, but was quick to be disappointed that the record company only put up 12 songs on each cd. Are you kidding me? . While the collection " Shout " excluded some geat songs at least it had 79 minutes of great songs. there was no reason for the record company not to include 36 songs on this release. We all know TFF has plenty of material to choose from.I would include the entire first album the hurting, minus the prisoner and ideas as opiates, or at least another three or four songs from that brilliant album, and a few more songs from the big chair and sowing the seeds of love. the working hour " and "This is the year of the knife" just to mention afew. Tears for fears is my favorite band of all times and they do not have a collection out there that I feel represents their brilliance and diverse music catalogue properly. This 2 cd collection could have done so by including another 14 songs. The more appealing the package is the more customers will purchase the product. If one does not own the original releases by now, they will most likely not purchase them in the future, but a great collection with many songs and liner notes will appeal to both hard core fans and casual fans alike in my humble opinion.

One of the greatest 80’s duo groups!
This 2 set cd is amazing! I’ve been to their concert recently and I cannot tell the difference between the studio and live version of most of these songs. Pure talent for over 40 years. I’ve grew up with these songs. If you get a chance to see them perform, you’ll be a fan and amazed.

What a Fabulous Collection
There are way too many TFF collections available out there mostly grabbing the megahits off of the 1st three albums. Not so the double cd “Gold” which is inclusive of the entire catalogue through the reunion lp “Everybody Loves a Happy Ending”. I actually prefer the second disc slightly more than the first; the later material really grows on you. The most underrated album in the catalogue is Raoul and the Kings of Spain (AllMusic gave it a terrible review which prevented me from buying it for years- boy was I missing a brilliant work of art!). Anyway this double cd is a fantastic collection- much better than the single disc overviews proliferating the market. Just get it!
