My older kids enjoyed laughing at this book. It’s witty, funny, and we just can’t get enough of the bad book.

My First grade class LOVED this book!
I am a first grade teacher writing this review with my students. Here are some of their comments about this fun, adorable and hilarious book...directly from the mouths of first graders:-We cracked up so hard. I laughed so hard I almost cried. - Caroline-It is the funniest and BEST book in the whole entire world.- Chloe-This book is SUPER funny. - James-This book was so funny I laughed so hard that I almost started to crack up. - Audrey- It cracked me up because I loved the bathroom words. - Gracey- I liked the illustrations because they are cute. And I like the funny parts. - Ryleigh- I loved the little guy (Nameless) he was so cute! - Gavin-I like the pebble because he was really funny. - Lorelei-This book was so funny it cracked me up. - Quinn-(Spoiler alert!!!) I liked the ending when he flew away. - Westely-I like the summary on the back of the book. It is the funniest book ever! -Emma-So...THIS is the BEST book EVER. It isn't the worst book. - Juliette-I liked when he pointed at the empty page and said "except for that page." - Jurnee-Adorable characters, especially Nameless! - Lindsey-I love the book it was so funny! - Nolan-I like the bully a lot because he learned a lesson. -Luke- I like when Nameless got hit with the shoe. - TJ- I loved the bathroom words. - Dominic-This book made me smile. - JaylaThis book contains simple sweet drawings. The expression of the character reflects emotions and allows young readers to identify character feelings. This book could be used for an opinion writing unit. Nameless tries to convince the reader to believe this is the worst book in the entire world.Booty bye-bye!From Ms. Campbell's Class 2019

Humor falls a bit short
I purchased this book for my 7-year old who tends to be a bit sarcastic/dramatic ("this is the worst day EVER!"). On one of those "worst days ever" I said, "oh awesome! I have just the book for this terrible day" and after he scowled at it for a few pages he lightened up in spite of himself, then turned downright chipper a few more pages in. :)The idea of the book is really the best thing and it's oddly therapeutic for a kid like mine - the story itself, the illustrations and the humor falls a bit flat for us. He does still reach for it when the mood strikes. Although I will say, my 3-year old will belly laugh until he cries at the boogery toot page.
