Hair Color Dark Brown - 5N (4oz)

I tried this hair color because I read that even the “hair friendly” color kits have an ingredient that can cause hair loss, and my hair has been thinning horribly. Haven’t seen any change in that after using this product, time will tell, but I really like the color and it lasted just as long as the other types of colorants. My hair feels wonderfully soft. Wish it weren’t so expensive. Also, 1 kit wasn’t really enough. I will probably need 2 to cover all of my roots.

This product DOES NOT COVER GRAY! I don't have resistant gray hair and never had a problem with a natural hair dye ever in my life but this product simply doesn't work. I bought two boxes based on the glowing reviews and to save on shipping. I should have read more of the crappy reviews because they match my experience exactly. I dyed my hair using the 5N dark brown and noticed my roots came out a light to medium brown. Not even close to dark brown. I thought maybe I did something wrong so I used the second box the very next day, I shook the formula longer, cut the tip open more thinking maybe I didn't put enough dye on my hair, massaged the hair dye longer, wrapped my hair in plastic with heat and still same results of medium to light color brown.So I called the company to ask to what gives? They informed me that I should have bought "black" instead of dark brown & that I shouldn't have bought two boxes. In short, they didn't give me a refund because I used it and then sent me an email asking me to fill out a product survey to help with what went wrong and gave me a 10% off on my next purchase. Why would I want to repeat my lengthy explanation of what happened again? Why would I even want to buy another product from them? I proceeded to tell them that they didn't product test and it simply doesn't work, told them all the steps I went through and they simply just stopped conversing with me.This product is expensive and it doesn't work. Shame on this company for selling a falsely advertised product! I don't want to buy Black, I want Dark Brown and the color should match what you have on the box as advertised. And how about adding some shampooing instructions? And the product left my hair very dry and super knotty as well (that was a first and I've been dying my hair for over 20 years). So don't buy this product if you are expecting it to match the box color. Not only does it not work, the company couldn't be bothered with making it right with their customer.

I would first like to say how AMAZING this company's customer service is! When I received it in the mail, one of the bottles had leaked everywhere. I e-mailed the company and right away received a reply. Within a couple days I got a new one in the mail. I have never had such quick service like this before! When using the product, the smell was not all too pleasant and while it was on my hair it did burn a little. When I washed it out, I only lost 4 strands of hair and usually I have hair falling out in chunks with other products. With just using my normal conditioner, my hair came out incredibly soft. It didn't even feel like I had just dyed my hair and there was no aftersmell. My complaint would be that the color came out very light, it turned my hair more a light/med brown that was golden instead of deep. I suggest to others to go darker than you think you need. Also, the color fades a bit faster than I would like for the price tag.

As the other reviewer stated, the color is a bit light but it worked for me. I really loved how it covered the gray and the color was consistent throughout. I only use gluten free products so this one now ranks at the top of my list and I'll also be telling my nutrition clients that are gluten intolerant and/or have Celiac Disease about it.

Dark Brown is really light brown. I will have to buy black to get dark brown.

I am about 75% stubborn grey. I also have very long hair and it is difficult to find a product to match consistency of color.I love this product. It covers the grey without grabbing black and it makes my hair feel soft and healthy. I have never had an issue washing it out and I actually prefer the smell to other hair colors. This is a brilliant alternative to harsh chemicals and toxic.

Shipping was quick. We bought this product because I get a rash with regular hair dyes. I still reacted to the product with red itchy patches. The color itself doesn't cover grays very well and it washes out in 3 weeks.

Dark brown did not work for me, it left my hair gray and reddish brown. I started using black and black workrd great for me until my last order that they send me dark brown and labeled it as black :(
