The look on my kid’s face when they came out of the box was priceless. Over time charging them becomes a pain in the ass, and the button gets switched on accidentally a lot. He doesn’t like the way the wires feel in the shoe, but it mustn’t be that bad because every year he asks for another pair. Watching him run around with these things on never gets old. Confuses the grand parents. Aggravates the administrators at school. We’ve gotten them twice now.

Update: I’m changing my rating on this product because we only had them for about a month or so and they already stopped working. One sneaker won’t light up at all - not sure if it won’t take a charge or if the lights are just broken. The other sneaker will still light up but some colors don’t work and it doesn’t cycle through them correctly. These were very cool when we first got them but they’re cheap and don’t hold up. This was with average use/wear by the way. Nothing crazy. It wasn’t like my 9 year old was running marathons in them. He’s bummed that they don’t work anymore.Original review: My son saw a girl at school who got these (or something similar) for her birthday and he really wanted a pair too. We found these and the price was really reasonable. He liked how they fit. The lights are nice and bright and it’s easy to cycle through the different color options. I did swap out the traditional laces for bungees because he prefers no ties. My only real complaint so far is that there were literally no instructions in terms of operating the LEDs or charging (actually there wasn’t any paperwork with them at all). It’s not rocket science to figure out how to use them but instructions would have been nice to refer to. And the charging ports were not facing the same way on each shoe so on one shoe the button to turn the LEDs on/off is facing toward the inside of the shoe and on the other it’s facing the outside of the shoe, which is a bit odd that they wouldn’t be facing the same direction. We did try to twist it around but because it’s wiring we didn’t want to mess with it too much. Overall, I’m very satisfied with these and my son loves them.
