A woman totally committed to beauty!
Tonya is someone who can be trusted completely. She is one of the raw food beauty pioneers that focuses on beauty, health and maintaining ones youth. She has achieved exactly that. She researches everything thoroughly and creates and shares with like minded people. What I admire most in her is her absolute commitment and discipline, and yes being beautiful takes time and lots of effort, especially after a certain age. There is nothing shallow or wrong with that. I'd rather buy her products than all the crap that is lies on the department store shelves with the emphasis on lies! because that's what they are toxic, and everyone is fooled by the glitz and glamour of the pictures of paid models who themselves would never use them. I have read all her books and enjoyed everyone of them. There is a plethora of information that will help you get to where you want to be. Her products are very reasonably priced and go a long way. I give her a thumbs up!

Love the book, but there are natural alternatives to first aid tape
Tonya had all kinds of great and very useful suggestions. I especially like Chapter 10: Know Your Cosmetics! She warns her readers how cosmetic companies get away with adding in synthetic ingredients under natural sounding names. The only suggestion that I found in her book that did not seem healthy was applying first aid tape to the face. She even said when she first used the tape it caused "redness" and that was a BIG red flag for me, since it meant that her skin reacted. I wondered why would her skin react, so I went searching for the answer. The problems seems to clearly be the isooctyl acrylate which is a synthetic chemical found in almost all medical/first aid tapes and bandages. "the presence of one of the most common acrylates (isooctyl acrylate) used in 3M's adhesive bandages and tapes was discovered by accessing online US patent records" from medscape websiteHere are the toxicity warnings listed on the USA National Institute of Health website: isooctyl acrylate"Inhalation Symptoms: Cough.Skin Symptoms: Redness.Eye Symptoms: Redness.Ingestion Symptoms: Vomiting. Aspiration hazard!Ecological Information: ICSC Environmental DataThe substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. It is strongly advised not to let the chemical enter into the environment."100% NATURAL ALTERNATIVE TO TAPE - Thinly cucumber slices. The cucumber slices naturally "glue" to your skin, so you can go about your day, sitting, running, jumping, sleeping and even gardening (to grow cucumbers)!Luckily you will not do not need to lay down before or after applying cucumber slices! An important element is to get the right tool - getting the right peeler/slicer. Make sure to use a peeler/slicer that has close blades, since that will make a thinner slice. Not all peelers/slicers are the same. If your sliced cucumber fall down easily from your face, then they are probably too thick. Thin slices are lighter and form to the curves of your face better.
