Don't use on wood
Pros:-ironing mat doesn't slide around, the grippy things work-seems heat resistant (after some other reviews on products like this where people said the surface of their mat melted, I purposely put the iron straight on it, and it seemed fine... Though I did cover it with a tea towel just in case)-my fabric ironed fine on it, no quilting lines or anything (since you're supposed to use the smooth side)Cons:-the steam setting on my iron transferred heat RIGHT through it to my wooden table. As you can see in the picture, it left like dots on the table in the pattern of the nonstick spots. Now, that said, this is my sewing/crafting table-- it's a hand me down, I beat the crap out of it, I don't care what happens to the finish of it. So I'm fine regardless. But if you care about the finish of your wood table, do NOT use this without a towel under it. Frankly, when I was ironing yesterday I just used two towels folded in half and stacked on top of each other, and that protected my table better... So if I'm going to be layering towels anyway, what's the point of this?I like the little silicon iron rest, that still transfers a little bit of heat but not a ton... I'm debating right now whether I want to send this back and get my money back, or whether I'd rather slowly destroy my table so I can be lazy and not put down towels 😂

works well
For a small apartment use, I thought I would try this before getting an ironing board and this seems to do the job for my touch up needs for things coming out of the dryer a bit wrinkled. I put this on the granite counter top and for the quick touch ups this works great. I am putting my idea of a ironing board on hold.

Quality
Exactly what I was looking for. I use it on the countertop in my bathroom. Having the area to put the hot iron on is a big help - doesn't take up room from pressing area for garment. Using a steam iron I pressed an area and then checked the countertop - no problem - it was cool and dry.

Very handful
It's a product that you can trust placing it over a surface that is not heat resistant, because the heat doesn't pass through, only a mild warmth can be felt underneath it. A little concern is about the sewing lines on the mat, while ironing over them it might leave wrinkles on softer fabrics, not a problem, but you have to be careful while doing it.

Steam leaves behind dirty water...? (edited)
Edit: The manufacturer contacted me via email after I posted my review, asking if they could correct the problem. I accepted a refund for the pad since it wasn't worth sending back, and they made a politely worded request that I update my review (not the annoying "If you change your review, we'll refund you" you sometimes see. Instead, they said something like "We've refunded your order as requested and are very sorry [etc etc.] Would you consider revisiting your review?") I've added one star for proactive and polite customer service that actually wanted to fix the problem.Original review:This pad works decently for quick touch-ups, being a good size and easy to store. I appreciate that it's non-stick, and also that it doesn't leave waffle marks on the clothes from square seams. What I like a lot less is that when I iron with steam, the steam goes through the pad and leaves brown, dirty-looking water behind on the the counter/bed/whatever. Considering I'm using clean water from a clean iron on a clean counter with clean clothes, the only place for dirty water to come from is this pad. Beware if you're going to use it on top of a bed or other cloth surface - you'll end up having to launder the cloth. One way around this is to lie a towel down first, but honestly, why is the pad leaving this gunk behind?

A great helper in the laundry room!
This ironing mat was exactly what I wanted. I use it on the top of my dryer for when I need to do a quick pressing with my iron...saves dragging out the ironing board. The area set aside for the iron is perfect. I looked at many of the ironing mats and was glad I chose this one.

excellent choice
This non-slip ironing pad works super well for me. It lays out smoothly & easily, does not slip around when in use, folds up & stores quick & easy. It was a great choice that I'm quite glad I made.

The Perfect Ironing Pad
This is a great pad that gets me to iron. Fits on the counter perfectly and having the silicone piece to put the iron on is a bonus. I like the smooth surface, little heavy padding and quick delivery. The underside is clever with its non-slip surface. For the few extra dollars in comparison to a few others, this one was worth it.
