Perfect – works flawlessly and beautifully made
I had purchased a well known name brand adapter ($50+) to couple my SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens to my Nikon Z8 – wouldn't work properly. To the company's credit they did try via email to help me out but couldn't so it was returned. Took a chance on this "el cheapo" adapter – it fits the Nikon Z camera mount and the M42 thread mount perfectly – and the lens focuses to infinity as it should.More surprisingly, the fit and finish is far superior to the brand name adapter. It has a nice heft to it and looks like it was made by Nikon specifically for the Z8. I was astonished. You can loosen the three adjustment screws with the provided hex wench to align the lens's index mark properly with the camera. This worked well for me but you must be very careful to make sure the wrench is seated properly in the screws' sockets – they are very tiny.

Great value for the money.
Didn't want to spend a bunch for an adaptor to make a cheap vintage lens useable on my digital camera so I did some shopping and this more than meets the mark of adequacy! No fancy packaging and it pretty much takes any M42 lens (vintage Pentax), closes down the aperture and makes it fully useable on a Nikon Z. You won't get autofocus, auto aperture or any contact with the camera so you'll have to create a custom-setting in the menus and tell the camera to fire when there's no lens attached so don't expect magic here!It comes with a hex wrench, too, so you can adjust the rotation of the lens so you make make sure the index marks are at the top, or anywhere else you want them. There are more expense adapters out there and probably none less expensive. Why pay a lot for a peice of aluminum that's little more than a machined tube?

Works great
I am using this adapter as part of a setup for attaching a microscope objective to a Nikon Z camera, and for that it has worked great! I haven’t tried rotating it with the tiny hex key they give you, but for my purposes this thing does everything I expected!

Does what it's spoda
Fits my M42 Takumar 135mm f3.5 lens on my Nikon ZF. I get sharp images and can focus to infinity. Comes with an allen wrench to tighten mount screws if they get loose. Sometimes these screws come loose and people complain that it's a terrible product when all you have to do is tighten the screws. Once tightened I have never seen a loose screw issue on these types of adapters again. If for some crazy reason the screws don't want to to stay tight you can always buy some loctight (something everyone should have on hand) to put on the screw threads that will ensure they never come loose again. But again once tightened I have never seen the issue again. Mine came tight so I have no issues there.

Great M42 to Z Adapter
I have a handful of m42mount lenses I wanted to use on my Nikon z50. This adapter is perfect. It’s all metal build feels nice in the hand, it fits into the z mount perfectly and m42mount lenses attach and detach flawlessly. This is a dumb adapter, meaning there are no electrical contacts. The camera will not know what aperture or focal length you’re using and autofocus will not work. So keep that in mind. Still if you’re fine manually focusing, this adapter is ideal.
