These are ones I am using from now on
Much better than other connectors that bend the led tape when trying to slip it in. These clamp. The only issue I had was undoing the connector when I got polarity wrong. It’s pretty hard to pop it loose.

Works, but requires some fiddling
These connectors do work, but they require a bit of coaxing to get them there. To begin with, i was using waterproof LED strips, and while this should be able to accommodate that, it didnt. The prongs that puncture the bottom of the LED contacts do not always make a solid connection for reliable power supply to the lights. I found I needed to separate the 2 parts of the connector (clear and black pieces), strip the silicon (waterproofing) from the LED strip (just enough to fit a non-covered portion into the connector - maybe 1/4") then puncture the leads in reverse before flipping it over and putting it in 'correctly'. I would use a toothpick or something similar to ensure that the strip was punctured on the prongs before flipping it over and again using a toothpick to ensure the leads on the LED strip made a solid connection with the prongs of the connector. I would then strip the power wire and lay it in the slots on the other side. Finally i would re-attach the clear top of the connector and ensure all 6 clips 'click' closed with some pliers before testing the connection. Again, a little more effort than I had hoped to get these to work reliably, but if you can put in the extra effort, these little things are great.

Yes! These work.
This is a “I never write reviews” review, but I’m hoping I can save someone some aggravation since I did everything wrong to start with and had to learn the hard way. 1) Open both sides of the clips as wide as they’ll go (which is probably wider than you think) before you try to use them. If you don’t, it’s easy to accidentally close both sides when you’re just trying to close one, and this will make you sad because opening them after they’re snapped shut is NOT FUN. 2) Peel back the 3M tape from the lights before you insert them in the clip. This is probably one of those things everyone but me knows, but I’m throwing it out there. 3) Double check the polarity before you insert the wires into the other side of the clip. Again, reopening these things IS NOT FUN. (I found it was easier to insert the tape first and then the wires, but it doesn’t really matter as long as you’re careful to keep +/- straight.) 4) Do NOT strip the wires before inserting them in the clip. They will not stay in the clip properly if they’ve been stripped, and the resulting weak connection might make you say bad words as you try to figure it out. The clip will pierce the wires sufficiently without stripping, and the resulting connection will be the better for it. What I found (again, after doing all these things wrong) is that if you do these things RIGHT, the clips work perfectly and are worth every penny. I haven’t tried soldering, but given how teeny tiny the connections are on the led tape I was using, I think my middle-aged eyes and dexterity are better suited to the clips.

Save your money and sanity DON'T BUY
After the better part of 2 days fiddling with these, I have given up. They just don't work. I tried stripping the wires and every possible way of making these connections and got no joy. Just once, for a few seconds, one connector worked. Briefly. I could clearly see that the metal contacts were in fact touching (the top of the connector is clear), but they didn't actually convey electricity. Once, closed, they are almost impossible to reopen with out major effort. These connectors cost almost $1 each and are useless. With the associated tape LED and wire, I spent about $30 and it is all useless at this time. The return window has closed and I am stuck with this junk. I should have heeded the other poor reviews and bought something else. I'm going to try the Torchstar safe lighting kit to see if that works better. Save your money and frustration and buy something else. Really.

Hit and miss
I've gotten a few packs of these and the connection works about half the time so make sure you check each one as you go. Plus the hinge often breaks and the flap separates. Not a huge deal because it's still useable. I'll continue to purchase these because it's a useful piece and I have a feeling anyone selling them is going to have the same product issue.

This is the cats meow!
These connectors allowed me to use the sections I had to cut off because you can’t turn sharp corners with tape LED lighting. I was reluctant after reading some of the bad reviews, but after reading the positive reviews I decided to give it a try otherwise I’d have to throw my remnants away. I’m glad I did they work like a dream. If you’re familiar with the old “ scotch locks” wire splice/tap it’s the same principle. I cut the tape light just before the place indicated giving you ample area for the probes to puncture the copper printed circuits. I used 18ga red and green to visually keep polarity correlated. You’ll probably need to open the connector wide for the tape light and insert it ALL the way in, make certain the sharp barbs are piercing the copper circuits. I’ve been an electrical technician for 47 years I’ve seen junk these are not junk, they’re single use if you miss the puncture points in the printed circuits cut it off start again and avoid the same mistake. You need a good pair of pliers to push lock down onto the tape light and the two wires down into the knife blades until the two plastic locks on both sides snap locked. Hope it helps, its been my experience your tools are only as good as the user once you get it you’ll see these are neat solutions!!

the product was used to connect LED strip to wire. It worked fine. One should be very careful to use it, else it will not hold together. Open the flap to 90 degree. Then insert LED and wires. I had to remove the insulator for the wires to fit in

Used these with Govee 8mm White Strips, works way better than the little white ones as these actually Pierce and lock onto the strip. Just wish the locks on these weren't so strong or small as making an adjustment can be a bit of a pain.
