Great Content, Knowledgeable Author, So-So Editing
I'm torn on what rating to give this book. Really 3.5 stars, I think. Keep reading this review! This is my first herbal/EO recipe book, and it has a LOT of great recipes, generally arranged by purpose and type (lotion, salve, etc.) Very happy with this aspect of the book. That being said, it is rather difficult to understand, likely because Demetria Clark is clearly very knowledgeable on this subject- pretty sure we're missing some basic information here, things that probably seem like common sense to the author. Like other reviews, I'm having a hard time "getting it." Now, I've only spent about an hour looking through it, but I already know the first few pages are really crucial to understanding it. I opened it straight to the middle first to check out the recipes, and felt that I may need some sort of deciphering tool :)Another thing that would make this book easier to understand is better editing. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are words missing and the train of thought bounces around. I read a LOT of independently published novels (on kindle - great stories, far less expensive than traditionally published books) so I know that books can be decently edited (or poorly edited) when independently published. An author can hire an independent editor for a fee to edit his or her book. This expense, to me, feels like it would be very valuable. Especially when the author is so clearly educated and knowledgeable on the subject! I sort of hate that the book feels less credible JUST because of the subpar editing!Important! The author does clearly state that this is a traditional recipe book, not an educational resource to teach you about herbs and essential oils. While a lot of backup is provided, it's just not enough information if you are just starting out. It really seems like the author took her personal recipes and notes and typed them up into a book to share with people, which I really love, because these are her tried and true recipes. So again, I'm torn! The content itself deserves a 5 Star rating.Once I am able to learn the "herbal" speak and spend countless hours research ingredients, I know this book will be very useful. I feel that I can trust the recipes and information provided, given the years this author has as a professional in this field. Also, the EO uses line up with the EO encyclopedias and guides I've read. There's a pretty useful index in the back, as well as a resource section listing suppliers and books. All in all, I would recommend this book- look past the editing and focus on the knowledge behind it. It really is quite extensive. Also, I purchased the paperback version after seeing other reviews that buyers felt the kindle version was hard to use. Now I can flag favorites and consult different portions of the book easily, so I'm very happy they mentioned that.

The Table of Contents and Index are both incorrect
The Table of Contents and Index are both incorrect. And there are typos. I use all my books as references and cross- reference them a lot. Its frustrating to have to page around to find the topics-but that's just me. I went in and corrected the Table of Contents by hand so I could do this but usually end up using the books I have that don't require me to do that.I have a lot of respect for Demetria Clark. I'm sure that all of these recipes and remedies are excellent so if you don't mind searching through the book you will be very satisfied. The ebook might be easier to use - perhaps one could search the whole book electronically for specific recipes....?I imagine that if there is a 2nd edition there will be better editing.

Good Reference for the Herbalist as well as the Aromatherapist
This is a very well laid out book. I was expecting more essential oil recipes but there is about an equal amount of herbal recipes, using the plant itself. All in all a good reference.

Good information, poor grammar
The book is full of information and I'm looking forward to trying many of the recipes. They look like excellent recipes to keep and build a medicine cabinet with. The only drawback I could find was the poor grammar. It was almost distracting at times, but as I was really after the information and not playing school teacher, I ignored it mostly.I think it is worth the money spent, especially for a novice like myself.

OMG
Oh my Gosh, this book is awesome. I just got into herbs this year and have a lot to learn. She has everything I need to get started. All the reasons and recipes are included in this book. She explains things very well making it an easy read book. I wanted to post this review before I forget to do it. I do need to read this book again and again to absorb everything she has written. This book is a 10.

Good book but typo's in the content may be a bit confusing for beginners
I do like this book because on the recipes it gives the latin name for the herb and/or oil used. My biggest issue with the book is that there are typo's that make no sense and may be confusing to the "newbies" of herbal healing. Overall it is a good book to have.

This is a great book if you are into herbal and essential oil remedies. If you want to learn how to infuse oils, make salves and linaments, use essential oils and even make your own tea - this is the book for you. This is already one of my favorite books.
