Overall Great Dashcam
The dashcam is simple to install in your car, it's quite chunky but works. Simply plug it in to a 12V and put up the front and rear camera. Obviously it takes time to make it neat and not a complete mess. I would say the cable is quite large as the 12V plugs straight into the main front dashcam and the rear camera cable is run from the front camera. The rear dashcam cable has a extension connector which can be awkward to hide in the seals of the door but overall, the cabling is almost unnoticeable unless you were looking for it. You have to purchase your own SD card, I went with the SanDisk Extreme 128 GB microSDXC Memory Card The app works well, I had the Halo Go (the cheap front dashcam) and the app was slow to load videos. Could of been the old SD card but I don't know. Good video quality and easy to use. I have had no problems with any of it. The dashcam also has a large mute button so you can enable and disable audio with a quick press, which I think is a nice touch for private conversations.

Great quality camera for both front and back.
This camera is amazing, I'm still a new driver so bought these to bring my insurance down a little and wow are they nice, they are really small and barely noticeable when you spend the time to cable manage and get all of the cable hidden and wired into the fuse box so they aren't plugged in the 12v lighter socket. If you buy their extra kit it allows for parking mode which will record any bumps that happen when you aren't there something which most cheaper cameras can't do. The camera quality on these is good enough that you can clearly see numberplates within about 15-25 feet or so. The picture is just one from the camera and the numberplates on the two near cars are crystal clear to read, I did cover them cuz I don't think pics of nberplates would be allowed but just trust me that you really can read them perfectly. Installing them was a little fiddly however it is very doable and took about an hour and a half maybe a little more to wire them all into fuse taps and hide all of the wires, as a result it is a super clean finish and you can hardly see it. Also has some great features, for example you can change it to record your speed at the bottom of the video, also the time and date were already set correct whereas my last dash cam (a much much cheaper one) kept resetting the time and date everytime I turned the car off. The app is pretty easy to use and connects via WiFi to the camera and will give you stats on how good your driving is, ie braking or accelerating to hard or going to fast. Super good cameras and if you want dash cams that actually work well and looks nice then I'd 100% recommend these

Brilliant once fitted - lots of extra costs
The Dash cam itself is very well made and once installed it works exactly how you would want with both cameras syncing up and the ability to read number plates clearly on both cameras. After a bit of playing the app is easy to use and a nice way of changing settings on the camera. I found I had to turn off the automatic crash sensor as it would be set of by every pot hole. Now that i have the camera in the car and working i would definitely recommend it to anyone. However it is not all good. As one of the most expensive cameras on the market there were a few things that bugged me. Firstly the kit does not include either a Micro SD card or the Hard wire kit which is needed to enable half the features that make this a premium camera. These then ad an additional cost of over £30 to an already expensive kit. The hard wire kit also has to be a Road angel specific kit to enable the features and this doesn't come with changeable fuse options like with other kits this meant that it wasn't a direct fit into my car. This resulted in having to outlay even more money to pay a pro to do the wiring. In total including paying to have the camera fitted and all the accessors to make it work it cost just over £250. This is a lot compared with other cameras on the market, however its the 3rd dash cam i have owned and by far the best. Its great to have the added peace of mind driving round London with all the craziness that happens on the road.

Endless issues and no solutions
Note: this is an ongoing issue and I am very close to asking for a refund unless things get sorted quickly. Positives: The camera quality is fairly good, actually a lot better than most I have come across. The installation process is in theory very straight forward, providing you have no intention of hardwiring the dash cam…then unfortunately, it is a pain to install (set aside at least an 1 1/2 hrs). If you gently tap the camera it will make an audible sound that it has started a capture (G-sensor). This is reassuring. On to the negatives: The live preview, does not work on my dash cam - permanently blank. The data transfer from the dash cam to the iOS app is VERY slow (less than 200kb p/second), making for a serious lag when trying to view captures and possibly the so-called live preview too. Until you have completed the installation (front & back camera and the SD card), the app is useless. So you won’t be able to see the feed to determine if your positions of the cameras are correct. The instructions supplied by the manufacturer are sub-par, IKEA instructions are better. Manufacturers support are incredibly condescending and read off a script half the time. They don’t have any standard processes for troubleshooting issues on their dash cams either. Value for money is questionable, dash cams shouldn’t be this expensive based on the above negatives. The settings on the app are extremely limited. There doesn’t appear to be a loop recording functionality, it is apparently ‘live’ and captures knocks only. The gps speed measurement doesn’t work correctly - at least not on my dash cam. Likely attributable to all of the above issues or is just a marketing gimmick.

Great Dash Cam
Installation was straightforward. I was able to hide most of it behind screen ‘frit’ (the black border around the windscreen) so from the front view all you could see was the lens peeping out. Be careful to leave enough room on the right side to access the sd card (recommend 128Gb). I used the hard wire kit which was fairly easy to install and comes with 3 types of fuse taps – ATO, low mini and mini – it does NOT include micro2 fuse taps which most newish cars seem to use (come on Road Angel it’s about time you sorted this out). I had to buy separate micro2 taps and graft them on to the end of the usb cable. Video quality front and rear was very good. It took me a little while to get to grips with the app but once I did I found it very useful. Amongst other things, the app sets camera resolution, downloads videos /pics to your smartphone and controls parking mode. Parking mode control can monitor car battery level and can be set to 12.4, 12 or 11.8volts. When the car battery reaches the selected level the parking mode is turned off to prevent a flat battery. (if you don’t want to use parking mode you don’t have to disconnect any wires as it can be manually switched off in the app). Video seems to be recorded in 2 or 3 minute sections (which have date/time stamps). You can quickly browse or ‘page’ through these to find the section you want to watch or download to your phone. This is via WiFi – I initially had problems with this but discovered that my phone kept trying to switch to my home wifi – once it was locked on the dashcam wifi downloads were reasonably quick (each one can be up to 5 minutes long). Alternatively you can remove the card and read it on a PC/Mac – each video has a readable date/time stamp (front and rear videos are located in separate folders). Needless to say I had problems with this! – some videos seemed to pixelate or break up. Finally discovered that I had a faulty card reader – once replaced, no problems. The Halo Pro has been in use for 6 weeks now and worked perfectly. I am really pleased with its’ performance and would definitely recommend it.

Amazing Quality
This was technically easy to install, I made it harder than it need to be by being awkward ! But it works great, needs a SD card in it, otherwise it just repeats it's missing one! The phone app is great (I can't seem to download the videos to phone, so i use the SD card in my computer to extract the videos) The video quality for the front camera is brilliant as it records in 2K, and the back camera is 720p so its fine. i don't understand the screen shot process though! Think it has something to do with noise, as a motorbike went past and i had the window down, it took multiple screenshots. But i would buy again.

Cameras fine, but app is terrible
I had the cameras fitted professionally (cost £150, took the guy about 3 hours). The cameras work fine and take great pictures and video, even the rear one through the darkly tinted glass. BUT (and it is a big "but") the app is really, really bad. I have attached a couple of screenshots that give you a flavour - one has text in German (I double checked that I have selected English as the language) and the one showing space on my phone for storage which tells me at the top that "existing memory is not sufficient", but I have set the limit to 10gb and it is showing over 40gb free so what is it on about? Also, I was assuming it would be easy to download video to my phone if I wanted to. Guess again ! Despite several attempts, I don't think I have successfully downloaded the particular video I was looking for from the app ( I did download various bits, just not the bit I was trying to get). I was a software developer for most of my career so I am fairly tech savvy. Basically, forget using the app just pop the card and plug it into your PC/mac/whatever. The card has everything laid out in folders and is easy to navigate. The parking mode is saved as time lapse video. The quality of both cameras is fine. The G sensor does seem a bit sensitive as it notifies you about a "possible collision" for the the closing of the doors and boot, and while you can change the sensitivity, I don't want to miss someone bumping the car when it is parked. It doesn't seem to be doing a permanent save so I am ignoring the notifications. The camera plays a notification sound when it goes to driving mode or parking mode, but other notifications actually say what is happening such as "GPS connected", why doesn't it do the same for parking and driving? If I was able to make the decision again, I would probably buy a Nextbase camera from Halfords and have them fit it.

Great Dash Cam without the vision obscuring monitor.
A very neat dash cam without a massive, unnecessary monitor. Tucks away and you can forget it’s there until you need it. Video quality is good except when there is a strong light behind what is being filmed at night, then it is a little difficult to make out. However I’ve not come across many cameras that can cope with that either. I had it fitted by a great company based near Rochdale, J Y Autos. The tech fitted it very quickly and had it up and running in less than an hour. Fortunately I have not needed it so far but have had much fun looking at the video on my ‘phone. The user manual could be much better and more comprehensive but I’m slowly working out the extra bits for myself
