Brilliant Product once working. Unless you are motivated there is a good chance you wont meet the challenge setting up the TECH
The product is excellent and once set up warrants the full 5 stars. However the chances of getting it to work, using the poor instructions, mean that in many cases people will abandon the process and feel ripped off.In my view the product is brilliant but for most people is no good as it is far too difficult to set up using the instructions givenAfter around 3 hours we eventually got it to work. A few pointers:1. Giff gaff card will work and if you buy at a cost of 1p will be delivered together with the phonehttps://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B016JAIIZS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=12. Register the phone on GiffGAff website and add £10 credit. Using the link below you will then get +£5=£15 of airtime credit3.Once the sim is registered online, please insert sim Card upside down in the flap on the side (do not unscrew the back) the sim fits in the flap on the side. The dreadful instructions do not explain how to insert the sim. Only a MICRO SIM will work and has to be 2g GSM hence my link to the web page above(I dread to think someone going through this process for hours and then discovering they have the wrong sim.)4. you will then see 4 bars in the left top corner to show it is getting signal from the phone mast. If you do not have the 4 bars, it means you have either put the sim upside down or, if you have 4 bars with a RED no entry sign superimposed on top it means you have either not inserted the sim card properly in place or have not waited long enough for the phone to register on the giff gaff network.5. Once you have the 4 bars you need to go back onto the giffgaff website and click the links to show the watch/phone is connected to the gioffgaff network. So far so easy now comes the hard part6. Once the 4 bars are showing, and giffgaff online is showing it is registered get pen and paper and write down the phone number on the giff gaff website that is registered to the sim.7.Download the software onto your iPhone or android. The software enables you to scan barcodes on the back of the phone.8.use the downloaded software to scan the BACK of the watch/phone so the software registers the phone to the software.9.The phone will then be connected to the software on the parents iPhone/android but location services at this point did not work for us.10. The instructions request you send sms text from parents iPhone/android to the watch phone and each time this does not work it gives you an option of another text with a heap of geeky computer text. You keep sending these texts until such time as one of them works. You will only know it works if you click locate device and it eventually finds the watch/phone on the software.11. You need to set the country up on both phone and software as Europe. We found default setting was Hong kong and each time we sent a text the GIFFGAFF credit was charged as an international call SMS11. you then send load phone numbers to the watch/phone is able to call to/connect to using the software. (normally mums and dads numbers). No other number will connect to the phone and is brilliant security feature

Great product with a little room for improvement
This review will be useful for people who purchase this in the UK and also want to use it abroad. The first thing I did was buy a GiffGaff SIM from a newsagent and then I went to giffgaff.com, activated the SIM and purchased a “goody bag” for £10 which gave unlimited texts and unlimited minutes for a month and also included EU roaming. It is not immediately obvious but when you put the SIM in the watch you have to have the shiny metal bit facing UP. I then turned on the watch and was able to call it - so far so good!I then downloaded the SETtacker 2 app - quite easy to set up but the watch was showing offline even though it was on and able to receive phone calls. The first important thing to do was to check the watch settings by sending it a text message as follows:pw,123456,ts#A few moments later I got a text message back from the watch that showed it had an incorrect IP addres setting. This was resolved by sending the watch another text message as follows (NB this is for UK/EU)pw,123456,ip,52.28.132.157,8001#At this point the app started working with the watch. I had a bit of trouble getting the time on the watch set correctly but once the device was online in the app I was able to set the time and also add SOS numbers. I do think the instructions could make it clearer that you can control the watch from the app once it is online rather than sending complicated SMS commands. The watch is a bit hit and miss about which of the 3 methods it uses to get its position. At first it seemed to use LBS which is not terribly accurate and on the drive to the airport it was sometimes using wifi and sometimes GPS.When we arrived in Latvia the watch stopped working and for this there were two issues to resolve. First I had to ask GiffGaff to enable roaming. In their small print they say you have to be in Uk for 2 months to qualify for roaming but luckily they gave me 14 days grace roaming when I explained it was for my sons GPS watch. At this point I was able to send SMS commands to the watch and get a response but the next bit was to set the APN for GiffGaff. The command for this is:pw,123456,apn,giffgaff.com,giffgaff,,23410#When I sent this command I noticed the date and time on the watch was wrong so I turned it off and on and that fixed it and also it then showed as online in the SETracker 2 app. Hooray!Since then the watch has been working pretty much perfectly. Things I like:1. Programming numbers into the watch that can be called using SOS buttons.2. Programming numbers into phone book that can be accessed via the watch touch screen.3. Callig my son - he is 6 and thinks it’s great talking to me through his watch.4. GPS tracking and tracking history. The watch by default updates location every 60 seconds which uses more battery than ideal so I reduced this to every 10 minutes via the app. In the app you can still push “locate” at any point.Things I don’t like:1. Setup could be a bit easier and I think they should make guides that are specific to each area.2. It is frustrating when the app shows the device is offline when it is clearly online. For example this happened while the watch was charging and turned on. To get it online I had to move it and turn it off and on. This could probably be fixed with a firmware update.3. More emphasis should be put on using the app to set numbers, time etcIn summary:Great product with some minor niggles. The support I had for them was great - just email them using the address inside the box. They came back to me promptly and were very good.

Nice non fussy watch/ tracker and great value for money
Only four stars since the first purchase had an issue with location, but it could receive and make telephone calls. Anyway, I tried the support email address [email protected] which looked ominous, but actually the support was great! The issue with the first watch was its IP address. I suspect a batch of the watches have cloned IPs! Anyway, after a bit of try this, try that, they sent me a brand new watch and after issuing the same apn settings for giffgaff (see below), the location functionality worked like a dream and it is deadly accurate! It's great non fussy watch and simple for a kid to use.I would definitely recommend this watch and to be sure of it working buy a giffgaff sim card with £10 on it to start you off.Follow the instructions in the booklet (I've left out all the crud), thus:-1) Download the app to your phone by scanning the code on the watch screen/ instruction book.2) Register an email account with the app.3) Add the watch by scanning the back of the watch from within the app (very important).4) Send the following txt message to the watch (case, spaces and commas are important!)pw,123456,apn,giffgaff.com,giffgaff,,23410#You should then be in business! You can then send SOS numbers, phone book numbers etc. all from the app. NB: You cannot set anything from the watch, it all has to be done from the app on your phone or if you're a nerd, you can actually work out how to set things using txt messages. All settings that can be set can be seen after sending the following as a txt message: pw,123456,ts#
