Excellent sound at a great price
I can't understand some of the negative comments for this product. I bought it to replace a damaged Bose Solo 5 which was £210 but now reduced to a similar price to the Polk S2. Yes it shuts down after 15 minutes of non use but it only takes one press of the controller to fire it back up again. The main point is the sound, which for the money, is very good. Perhaps not surprising as it's longer and has a wireless sub, it's significantly better than the Bose. Much louder with excellent frequency spread and solid base. It can't compete with a surround sound system but can still bring explosive soundtracks to life. I have age related hearing deficiency and I find the clear speech settings very useful and effective. Again, better than the Bose, for me at least. There are some comments suggesting the three different settings have little or no effect. Play music and try them and you will be surprised just how much difference they make. Used in conjunction with the base control the frequency response can be adjusted to suit all my requirements. For TV I'm using the digital input from a Virgin box. The Bluetooth also works exceedingly well playing music from an iPhone. Great value for money,

Decided to stop working..... REVIEW NOW UPDATED!
Easy to set up, nice clear sound with just the right amount of bass. This "WAS" a great soundbar until it suddenly decided to stop working. Tried switching to optical, then back to hdmi arc but still no sound. Its driven me crazy trying to fix whatever problem it is. Have contacted the seller and will be asking for a refund. Only had this for about 6 weeks.UPDATE!! forget to say i got it working, and now 3 years later(2021) it's still working and a fantastic speaker.

I really like this product
I'd never heard of Polk before but the reviews seemed ok and I placed an order. I'm glad I did. The sound bar and subwoofer came with and optical cable as well as a HDMI cable. As my new TV had an arc/HDMI connection I used that so I could control the volume from the TV remote. The sub-woofer paired up to the main sound bar as soon as the power was turned on and the TV audio settings picked them up the moment I seleceted them. The sound is good and definitely of a better quality than the TV speakers. I would definitely buy this brand again and recommend them if asked about them.

Amazing
Needed to replace our old Panasonic HTB680 soundbar and wireless sub because the LCD had failed on it. We didn't want another LCD, not everyone's cup of tea but I know but we love the minimal display LEDs on the Polk. Sound hooked up to our 65" Philips Ambilight is fantastic in our 3m x 4m room. It sounds much more realistic and rich than the aging processor on the Panasonic. Bass is punchy and fills the room on action scenes. The small bar seperates out instruments and effects well. The full left to right, up and down soundstage isn't quite as big as larger more expensive systems. However the ease of set up, minimal looks, price and great sound is excellent. Can't wait for the neighbours to go out, so we can push up the volume a bit more on film nights.

Great budget soundbar, almost completely ruined by 15min auto-off powersave feature
Superb sound quality, solid enough build quality, small size, good remote, and nice minimalist design for such a reasonably inexpensive soundbar... almost completely ruined by a 15 minute auto-power-off feature that was not disclosed on this page, nor on Polk's website when I checked it prior to purchase. I have also complained to the manufacturer directly about this feature. I bought this soundbar mainly to use with my desktop PC used mainly for online gaming, VOIP, and almost constantly for podcasts/music/YouTube/Twitch/Netflix/PrimeVideo streaming, as my Yamaha AV Receiver that I run my TV/Blu-rays/DVDs/CDs/MP3s/Sky/FireTV/mediaPC-streaming/game-consoles through has a more expensive Yamaha soundbar on it. I decided to stop using headsets on my PC when I bought a desk mic, mainly due to not liking wearing headsets, or having to keep recharging them as I preferred wireless, and most gaming headsets having terrible build quality (it was getting expensive to keep replacing Corsair/TurtleBeach/SteelSeries ones annually at £200-£300 a pop for decent quality ones), but my old Creative 5.1 speakers were not fit for purpose anymore, having picked up an annoying static hum. So I decided to look for a sub-£200 soundbar that would do the job, having been impressed by the soundbar on my home theatre set-up when I replaced an old 7.1 speaker set-up with that and barely noticed a difference in sound quality or surround sound accuracy. My Yamaha AV receiver+soundbar has an 8 hour powersave auto-shut-off, which still irks me sometimes when I've been listening to music all day on it, then decide to watch a movie and the receiver/soundbar switches off halfway through the movie or during climactic scenes because I haven't touched a button on the device/remote in 8 hours. However at least 8 hours is an understandably customer-friendly (if not eco-friendly) period for a powersave feature, taking care of those occasions when you genuinely forget to switch it off once you're done with it or have gone to bed. The 15 minute powersave on the Polk soundbar is unbelievably short and annoying - if you pause a stream or movie/TV to go make a cup of tea/coffee or go to the bathroom, or answer the phone/door, it is highly likely that the sound will have switched off when you sit back down to resume watching/listening. If you don't realise then that's a few seconds of playback you have to rewind once you actually get the soundbar switched back on (which takes 10ish seconds from pressing the button to sound being output). I've even had live game/podcast streamers need to go afk mid-stream, or a friend go afk in VOIP, for 15ish minutes, meaning no sound was output, and because I was occupied with other things (surfing the net, or playing a game on my tablet, waiting for the audio to resume) I did not realise that the soundbar had switched off, even though the stream kept playing throughout, and when the streamer or my friend returned I could not hear them and missed part of the livestream, or looked like I was being rude and ignoring my friend, because the stupid soundbar had turned off. So I've knocked 1 star off the 5 stars this soundbar would have got because of that stupid powersave - it's lucky I didn't knock 2 or 3 stars off for such an annoying "feature". Also once in about every ten switch-ons, if the sound source is already active when the soundbar is turned on, the sound will be very grainy/distorted with a loud hum emanating from the speaker, necessitating turning off the soundbar and turning it on again to "fix" the problem. I knocked another star off for that. As soon as I can afford/justify replacing this soundbar it's gone, straight in the skip/bin, and good riddance.

I basically bought this for watching BBC nature documentaries since my TV's inbuilt speaker had hard time delivering clear dialogues but I think this Signa S2 is overkill for that purpose. I should have gone for Signa Solo which was selling for 8k during sale (including bank discounts). Now coming to it's capabilities. FORMAT IT PLAYED : Dolby digital, Dolby digital plus, DTS, DTS-HD (Master Audio) and many other formats except Dolby TrueHD & Atmos where TV displayed something like "audio not supported in this video". My biggest concern was if it can play DTS files and it plays them brilliantly. I felt DTS sounded better than Dolby but it may be due to higher bitrate of dts files. VOCALS are amazing. Super clear. Actually whole sound speactrum is too clear with great instrument separation that you will be able to distinguish between different sounds/instruments being played. High notes tone (Tweeters) are just pleasant to listen to. Polk's Voice adjust feature is extremely beneficial and works as advertised. But since soundbar produces such crisp and clear sound I never felt to use that feature but I tried just to test it out and it worked great. It easily fills 15x20 room with just 50% volume that you would feel like sitting in a theater. Now coming to BASS: It's the most controversial part with Signa series soundbar. When playing dolby movies (I played Batla House and Justice league) the rumble was so huge even at low base level setting that it literally felt like being in the scene of the movie. The rumble penetrated 3-4 walls in my house and could be felt beyond 30 feet. When Polk says "Deep Bass Technology" they are truly honest with their claim. Bass felt like Sub-bass most of the time than normal Bass. Bass is what you can hear, Sub-bass is what you feel in your whole body. I also noticed there was no down firing driver in the sub. When you place your hand near sub you will barely feel anything even while producing THAT deep Bass rumble in action scene. Bass effect is more like 3D and feels like PVR cinema at home. These guys (Polk Engineers & Scientists) know the science of sound and are Master of acoustics so they have done something there in the Bass department. Now the controversial part of NO BASS. It occured mostly during streaming music via Bluetooth or even while playing directly from TV. Bass was so loose & non existent (70% of the time) that one would easily get disappointed. Only thing about the bass present during music is some "air pressure type" loose Bass ,which you can only hear, without having any body, depth, weight or punch. But when you watch dolby/DTS movies Bass will just shock you in many ways that you won't be able to believe yourself. One can easily feel that Super deep Punch and weight with 3D effect. So there's definitely some improvement to do in that Bass department but it won't affect your experience during watching any movie. For music lovers I would suggest to go for Magnify Mini rather than Signa S1/S2. It was very easy to install and I used HDMI Arc to connect to my TV. Using Polk's remote I can turn on Bluetooth ,connect with my OnePlus 7 and stream. I actually enjoyed listening to music since I rarely listen to Bass heavy songs ,so Bass issue never bothers me. I got it for around 14k so it's Value for Money for me and actually delivers more than what I paid for. I received 4 power cables (2 two-pin & 2 three-pin). Received all other accessories like optical cable,HDMI cable, remote, batteries. Thanks for reading my review. Cheers ;)

Sounds OK , solid , good bass and mediums, but lacks of trebles. Good for the price , if you are looking for astonishing sounds it is not your soundbar.
