Bought this product and so far it seems to work as advertised

Bought to replace the same peeler that was 6 years old, these last a long time and are the perfect solution for peeling oranges IMO.

The peeler is very easy to hold. It is substantial and the ring is wide. It scores the fruit well, making peeling easy.

Bought on 4/6/14 for $5.91ea. - for price reference (since prices fluctuate here - wait for good prices!)Pros:elegant design; after dinner conversation piece (great for "what-is-this" game); safe; works well; easy to clean.Cons:somewhat expensive (with no moving parts, seems it should cost only around $2); still leaves a significant layer of pith depending on the fruit, & needs to be scrapped off with a knife..., or you can just eat it (search for key phrase "is orange pith good for you").

I don't regret buying this peeler as it was only 6 dollars or so, however I I think the gool ol' fashion style citrus peeler is much more effective and just as easy to use.The cutting point on this peeler on this is very small, and does not do a good job of completely cutting the pith and rind. I also really didn't find rotating a piece of citrus in one hand while keeping it compressed just right against the other with the peeler any easier, and maybe a tad more difficult than a "normal" peeler.One positive is that it is very safe and there is no chance of slipping.

I like the idea of putting an orange slicer right on your hand so you can just whip your hand over the orange and it's ready to go, but it's not that simple. This slicer doesn't make much of a slice, so you still have to work just as hard to get it open. The pictures also suggest that you can effectively peel the orange by sliding the flat part of the tool under the skin, which is misleading (it won't work). Lastly, this is probably meant for little fingers, as it doesn't even fit over my thumb. I'd return it but it's been too long.

Really great for those who have arthritic hands. I have CRPS and my right hand doesn't work very well, making it difficult to use a traditional citrus peeler, but this solved the problem! Works great. The only thing is my hands are a little small so it slides around on my hand.
