Strong, Sturdy, and Invaluable
I love this board. It is really sturdy. I am not a small person, and after using it for a year, it barely shows any sign of wear and tear. It has helped immensely with my balance and ankle strength. I highly recommend this.

How to get on it.
After having ankle surgery with part of my ankle bone removed the physical therapist had me spend a minute or two on a plastic balance disk to build up strength in my ankle. I searched Amazon for one I could use at home. This one fit my needs perfectly. It's a bit lower to the ground than some other balance disks but it works well, is very sturdy, & met my needs as well as being an excellent way to gain balance skills. The most important thing to know is how to get on any type of balancing board or disk & you do that by locating it in a place where there is something you can hang onto to like a counter or fireplace if you need to. Tilt one side of the disk down to the floor while holding onto something so you don't fall and place one foot on the down side. Then place your other foot on the other side of the disk. This disk was thicker and sturdier than the plastic disks and a good value for the money. The base is slightly lower and is made of plastic so placing it on a hardwood floor makes it extremely slippery. I found buying an inexpensive small flat throw rug that doesn't slip on the floor and lays almost as flat as the floor provides a little more stability when first starting to use the disk. When that becomes easy then remove the small rug and work up your skills using it on a hardwood floor or cement floor where it is much more slippery and harder to keep your balance.

Wider than my first board
I purchased this board to use at work. The entire office is carpeted so I can use it anywhere. I keep it under the desk I am using for the day and store it in my locket later on when I leave. This board helps even when I am just sitting at a desk. I use it while sitting in my chair which helps with proper body alignment. My knees were starting to hurt (I have osteoarthritis - by all means please consult with your doctor before using it). I always feel much better after using it and don’t know why I neglect to use it daily. So I figured, this is an inexpensive item and having one at work and home is reasonable.I have two coworkers who are purchasing one, since they saw mine. I let them try it out and they immediately were hooked. One is going to bring her yoga mat to work and use the balance board. We will be using it on our breaks in a discreet location. We are the minority who do not take frequent smoking breaks, therefore no one should complain. This board is slightly larger than the one I have at home. If you have long feet it will make a difference. The board is thick and sturdy. I don’t see a problem with long term use. I am wondering if this will help with roller skating. I have been interested in doing that but worry about my knees. Time will tell.

Good for the price
Not exactly what I needed for rehab but the price was right. The round piece on the bottom is rather large for my application but it works as designed.

Well made, works comfortably.
The distance to the edge contacting the floor surface is just right to be able to remain stable on the disc without falling off completely. Discovered that it is important to place the feet symetrically in order to located and remain balanced. If off, is much more challenging to remain steady.

Fantastic family gift!
The only reason I was tempted to give this 3 stars is because I can't stay balanced on it for more than 5 seconds! GRR!! LOL! Such a fun thing for kiddos and grandmas (like me) alike! I highly recommend as a family gift!

Good quality, but used
Using this for physical therapy, and also to introduce young puppies to different playing surfaces. It seems like a great product, but I should have gotten a discount because there were scuffs on the top and obvious wear on the bottom.

Great Balance Board
I had Achilles Tendon surgery 3 months ago. I used a balance board similar to this with my PT. I purchased the ProsourceFit Wooden Balance Board to use at home. This board works great when you have to use it for front to back and side to side movements for your foot after surgery. I have also used it to balance both feet on. Keep in mind you would need to first hold onto a wall or other support when first getting on the board with both feet. Great product
