Is the "tint" separate? Because all I got was a can of white paint.

The white is a base and the color is mixed in before it gets to you. The inside contents should be of the color you requested. Check the label on the lid.

Can this product be used on iinexpensive furniture made out of particle board that is covered with a thin surface coating that imitates a wood look?

You can try it, but be aware that that thin surface coating is primarily paper. There is no guarantee that it will not bubble a bit when it is wet with paint. I definitely would not thin the paint with water.

Did anyone else order colored paint and get just a white base? Was your color sent separately?

I bought mine in a spray can - supposed to be “Platinum Ring” and idk but it’s just coming out white!!?? I’m not new to the chalk painting world nor new to using rattle cans so I’m confused? Iv shaken this can to death and it’s still just white
