Make sure you live in the correct USDA zone for growing this plant before planting. The Jubilation thrives in USDA zones 7-10. This plant can be planted in Fall, which will be followed by a dormant stage where you will not see very much growth out of the plant. Then in spring, the plant will resume growing. We recommend using a slow-release granular fertilizer formulated for gardenias once there are longer threats of freezing temperatures to keep your gardenia fed throughout the growing season

Leaves brown, crunchy, and dropping & no flower buds despite optimal sun and soil. Advise me please!

Check soil pH. Gardenias need acidic soil. Sounds like that is the problem.
