Bend lid, not tab, to fix secure closure
I finally fixed it! Now the lid closes with a solid snap, and it doesn't pop open unintentionally, which used to happen constantly just handling it gently.I had been trying to bend the tab that secures it closed, but that never did anything. Finally it occurred to me to instead bend the opposing lid itself. I used pliers and bent the lid to be more of a right angle. It marred up the lid a bit, but I don't care. I could have gotten the same results if used a rag with the pliers, to protect the lid. What you need to do is bend the lid all along its length, on the end which has an indent to accept the retaining tab from the opposite lid.

these are great, however be warned they are small
these are great, however be warned they are small.aside from scale wood models and small leather binding projects you should consider other items if you are looking for large, solid brass nails.if however small nails are what you are looking for, say for a model ship or any other sort of craft, these are a fine choice.

I love these as rivets
I love these as rivets. They were suggested on a recent downloaded video I purchased on Interweave. They are smaller than they look. She suggested purchasing the 1" ones but they were harder to find and the price went up significantly. So I thought I would start with these (5/8"). I'm glad I did, I don't need the 1", it would just be cut off and wasted.

Up to the task
I am using these to anchor copper flashing to a bunch of 4X4s to discourage squirrels from sharpening their teeth. They blend well with the flashing and offer adequate support for the flashing. I can easily remove them and they minimally damage the wood. Other than dropping and loosing them I have not had a problem with them.

Nice brass nails
These are small sold brass nails, just as described. They are shiny brass colored. There are too many nails to count, but it looks like a couple hundred. I’ve attached photos.

brass nails
These are great nails for furniture restoration. I am using them on antique dresser to attach brass keyhole escutcheons to the dresser drawers, I wanted the dresser to be authentic to the period of the furniture, not use cheap steel nails. I looked for small brass nails at the big box hardware stores, could not find them anywhere else but here on Amazon.
