Updated 11/21/2020 - after an exhausting hike i sat down for a breather. by the time i got back down the mountain i realized i'd set my stick down and left it behind. granted i can use my S Pen to snap photos remotely on my Samsung phone still the remote that comes with this is so much easier to use. so when i got home i ordered a replacement. i liked how my first one worked out so well i purchased it twice. i think that says a lot about my experience with this. FYI the remote from the one i left behind works with the new one, no difference in any respect. i honestly had no idea what to expect when i ordered this. i hadn't even seen a selfie stick in person. that said i was very happy with what i received. it arrived in a very small box. at first i thought something was off but the stick collapses down so well it does fit into such a small container. there is a single sheet of paper instructions maybe 3'x1" in size, don't lose it. once opened up it is obvious how to extend the stick out. it goes up and high enough to easily use for video conferencing. the note10+ is a large phone but it still fit easily into the mounting bracket. enough extra space it could even work with the newer Galaxy S20 Ultra model. FYI if happen to have a gopro or similar it comes with a second mount for that. fully extended the stick allowed me to sit and have a face to face video conference just yesterday. the materials used are good and i found not a single defect or quality control issue. the remote pairs via bluetooth no need for any app. it has a well designed spot on the stick to store it. it is easy to pop in and out and stays put. once ready to use pair the remote with the device look for the name "YUNTENG" among your bluetooth devices. then using the stock camera app it works every time. unlike some pairing ordeals this took me under a minute and worked the very first attempt. the not so good this is one of the rare items that i really couldn't come up with much of anything. the three leg setup works fine on most surfaces but on rocky or very uneven terrain it can be a bit difficult to get level. if not level it can get lopsided if fully extended. once that happened to me and i had to quickly grab it just before the phone was to hit the ground. but again that was on very rocky rough terrain. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone especially someone who needs to use their phone for video conferencing purposes.

This Tripod/Selfie Stick/Phone holder Rocks! Two motivations for me: 1) I decided it would be fun to learn how to take a great headshot for my professional profile and 2) My iPhone 11 is awkward and risky to hold while taking photos or videos - even in a case and I don't want to see my $700 skittering down the concrete. I already have 2 tripods so I was just looking for a phone holder to attach to the tripods and a remote trigger to take photos of myself. So this package solved both of those and actually I ended up loving both the selfie stick and the tripod because it is so compact and functional. A word about physics. The legs of the tripod form an equilateral triangle with 7-inch sides. It will not be stable at its full extension of 40 inches as a tripod. Indoors you might get away with it in landscape mode but even then use caution (unless you add a heavy weight or clamp it down). However, it is great indoors at no or low extension so you can use it to hold your phone as you work. In portrait mode, this works only with zero extension as a tripod since the phone center of gravity is off to the side. The 40" reach is perfect for stable selfie stick usage in either mode. The phone holder does not use a spring but instead uses screw tension which results in a strong clamp on my 3.2" wide iPhone 11 in a case. The Bluetooth trigger was detected easily by the iPhone and works perfectly to take a photo or to start and stop a video (after you have selected the mode on the phone). The extra buttons add no extra functions - they just trigger the photo and video the same as the main button. Fit and finish are excellent but I have only used this for a few days so I have nothing useful to say about longevity. From a design and usefulness perspective though this is definitely recommended!

I liked the Bluetooth remote, I liked the full length and sturdiness of this selfie. Which is why I gave it three stars. What I didn’t like was its uncomfortable hold. It was scratchy and bulky. I didn’t like the screw adjustment to hold the phone in place. It hurt my fingers screwing it in place and took way too long, my subject had long since gone home fed up with waiting. The wildlife had gone to bed. I returned the selfie.
