Q: Where exactly are these brazil nuts sourced from? i'm looking for brazil nuts sourced directly from brazil (for the soil and selenium in the soil)

The package says country of origin:; Brazil, Bolivia or Peru.

They are raw nuts, no shell and no salt. Very good.

Q: Have these brazil nuts been pasteurized?

I couldn't find the answer on the TerraSoul website, so I sent their customer service an email. They got back to me pretty quickly, and I'll paste the relevant part of their answer below. If they send more info later, I'll do another answer with that info. This does not definitively answer the question, though. I can just add that the Brazil nuts taste completely raw to me, and delicious. I can't tell they have ever been heated at all. Of the Minimally processed criteria listed, Terrasoul Brazil nuts meet the following: - They are certified by a USDA National Organic NOP program: CCOF is our certifying body. - They are certified by a Non-GMO program: Where Food Comes From is our NON-GMO certifying body. - The brazil nuts are not irradiated. - They are not heat treated at or above 212 degrees F. THis does not mean they are heat treated at all, just that they are guaranteed never to have been heated to 212 or above. - The bioavailability range through Cytosolve testing is a specialized testing done by Cytosolve, Inc. This avenue for testing is currently being researched by our FSQ team as optional testing, as products can score between 0-20 to pass. At a score of 0, the products would still likely pass as RAW due to high nutrient density.

Good question....... you'll have to do a bit of research yourself though as i'm not sure. i happened upon it because brazil nuts are a good source of selenium for my specific need. If selenium is also good for neurological health then i would assume you'd be good to go. What was your question again, i forgot ? ( heheeh, just joking)
