Love it
I think it works really well. Especially for the price I just bought my 4th one. One of them make a noise. Since I read some people complain about it. Watch your fingers when putting tension to it but once it’s installed your golden

Keeps the Office Scent Free
My office is ~25' away from two restrooms in the company. I hear everything, and the odor eventually wafts to my door as well. I've asked the two primary culprits to simply close the door and leave the fan running, but that requires too much effort apparently. I've closed my own door, but it always seems that someone will need to see me, or they visit and use my office as a safe refuge until the fog lifts. This week I installed two of these simple door closers, and the problem has been solved. Sure, somebody could somehow wedge the door open, but we've already discovered that closing the door is too hard for them to accomplish, so finding something to keep the door open is way beyond their capabilities. The product was easy to install, each one took less than 10 minutes to install. I mounted them on steel door frames, so I had to first drill 1/8" pilot holes. If you are installing on a wooden door frame you'll need a smaller pilot hole. The one drawback as other reviews pointed out is the slight noise the spring makes as it is compressed and released. The sound is not bad, but it caught everyone's attention when they opened the door. Everyone stopped, looked around, moved the door some more, and tried to discover the source of the new noise, but they could not see the device from the hallway. The commercial doors in the office a quite heavy, but this device has not trouble closing them. I adjusted the closer to close the door a bit slowly and gently, but the amount of force used is adjustable. The price is perfect! I'll never get reimbursed for mounting and installing these in the office, so my payback will be the joy of not having my office smell like poop, or even worse, poop sprayed with Lysol..... Gag!

Very functional and well-made with some limitations
I bought this spring door closer for a side kitchen door to keep our indoor cat from getting out. The door is old and the frame is warped so the door naturally swings completely open to a stationary position. Before I found this closer on Amazon I didn't even know this kind of closer version existed. I was planning on buying one of those bulky hydraulic rod closers from a big box home improvement store. This one is nice because it only takes a few screws, it is on the opposite side of the door so you really don't see it. It also can be installed in cramped spaces since the mechanism doesn't take up very much space. They offer various colors so you can match it to your décor, and it looks easily paintable. It is made in China, but feels sturdily made. It only took me about ten minutes to install it on a wood door. I didn't even drill any pilot holes first, the screws included were perfect for wood. The biggest drawback is the tensioning of this device. I'd recommend two people if you have to really ratchet up the tension on the spring. They include a tensioning screw which you use to wind it up. Once you go around 3 holes or so, it gets quite dangerous if you lose control of the tension and I can see the spring whipping around and possibly pinching your fingers. We have a fairly heavy vintage warped wood kitchen door working against gravity and it took about 3 holes worth of tension which might have been at the limit of what you can safely wind this to. The instructions clearly say to not over-tension the spring or it will buckle, but there is no clear description of what the limit is. The closer had some minor spring "groaning" when opening and closing the door. I added a little machine oil to see if it quiets down after breaking it in. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. It is well-priced, easy to install, and a very simple design. Once it is configured for your setup you should be good for a long time.

It works but cheaply
First thing first, you get what you paid. This Prime-Line KC10HD is the cheapest door closer that you can find. And let me tell you, it will get your door closed. The installation was fairly easy and comprehensive. Basically, you mount the parts to the frame and door and it will work. But it comes with some drawbacks. 1). It will slam the door, making tons of noise. 2). Your door will be closed all the time which might be bad for air circulation. 3). The spring noise is kindda obiovus. But my overall experience was okay because I can't beat the price. Other door closers will cost $50+.

Like it a lot. Gentle and easy
I am very happy with this door closer. I got this because my kids are always leaving my back door open. Instead of getting extremely angry with them I decided to buy this. I had originally bought one of those commercial door closers with the arm. The problem is, it was too strong for my kids. The smaller ones couldn't get out and definitely couldn't get back in. My wife also didn't like using that much effort to open the door. This product is very gentle in closing the door. I mean, it can be adjusted to push the door harder or less hard, but it will never make it unpleasant to open. In fact, if there was some wind blowing against it, I don't think it would successfully close the door at all. But to just avoid kids absentmindedly leaving the door open, this is perfect. Installation was crazy easy and it looks like it will work with just about any door and frame you can come up with. The internal spring does make a little creaking sound, but it isn't enough to bother us. Other reviewers have oiled it and made it silent, but we kind of like having a quiet signal that someone has opened the door. I like this product enough that I have purchased a second one for my front door. This is the right door closer for light residential doors.

Great! Cheaper than big box stores.
Same as sold in big box stores, but much cheaper. Works great on bathroom stall door.

Almost a perfect solution for my basement door to keep it always closed so my infant doesnt crawl into the basement. Installation was a breeze and adjusting the spring for stronger closing was simple. There is a small squeak but nothing that bothers me.

The main body of this product works fine as does the connection arm the main issue with it though is the extremely cheap wood screws that they give you. The heads of two of the screws completely stripped off the bodies after installing it into wood, very cheap material used if you have your own screws I would recommend using them or making sure you drill good pilot holes. The instructions don't specify this very well.

This door closer appears to be somewhat coarse. The paintwork in the screw holes were coming off even though it was new (see picture). The threads for the closing arms also had some paint stripped off. As the closer is of metal construction paint may, depending on the finishing process used, come off quite easily. It was easy enough to fasten, but I was missing one plastic plug for the retaining screws (see picture) Finally, this closer is very noisy. When closing or opening the door, it emits a loud creaking noise. Measured with my phone, the noise levels in the room rose from 40+dB to 60+dB. (video attached). If you are looking to close a door inside your home, I would give this a miss. The common overhead door closer (while more expensive and more involved to install) is much quieter. However for applications where noise is not an issue, this closer works as described and is quite easy to install. There appears to be no fine adjustments to the closing rate. You can only select to put the closing arm into the available holes. Amendment - May 2021 Some time after posting the above review, I found some other reviewers who dismantled the unit and added lithium grease to the spring inside. Did this and after some time the closing noise is nearly inaudible.

I bought this product 2nd time and had the same issue as my 1st purchase. After few weeks, it start making noise when door opens/close. Last time I was able to replace it with a new one and it is working fine for me for 8-10 months without issue. But this time I did not get enough window to return it back and now I have to suffer this product.
