Fantastic, deep flavoured rum for sipping and mixing
I love a glass of good rum, neat and just below room temperature, and this is a very good rum for that. Watson's Trawler Rum has a deep, warming, satisfying flavour that lingers nicely in the mouth after you've swallowed. It doesn’t come across as an overly strong drink; there's not too much raw alcohol burn like some cheaper drinks. Instead it's a warming and relaxed rum with a demerara sweetness. I bought several bottles after trying it for the first time, some of the for mixing into home-made coffee liqueur. It's perfect for that and will make coffee liqueur that beats the name brands hands down. It's also seen use in several cocktails. Top marks for mixability. I would rate this on a par with many rums costing a lot more.

A very good rum
For the price, you can't go wrong. A rich, old fashioned navy rum. Heavy on the molasses, enjoyable on its own or with a mixer. My new go to rum.

Depth and character
Well worth buying when the price is £21 or below - nice flavour that lasts in the mouth. As in the title it has depth and a nice round sweet finish.

Excellent in all respects.
This is a very enjoyable, Navy style, dark rum. It has a lovely balance of molasses and fruit with a hint of chocolatey notes and is not too sweet or syrupy to be cloying. Watson's Trawler Rum is smooth enough to be a sipper and is superb for mixing with cola or ginger beer. It is a great all-rounder and I prefer it to some more expensive brands. What a find! Will certainly be repurchasing this quality rum.

Really Nice Taste
I have to say i really like all sorts of rum, and had never heard of this one before but gave it a go as it was on offer. I like this one for sipping neat but when mixed with just a splash of coke, there seems to be a nice licorice taste to it, smooth and subtle. Two bottles later, both empty, i will be buying another as long as the wife doesn't find out. For the price, this is a really nice rum

So so
I'm a fan of dark rums and like to try different brands. I drink neat, so always on the lookout for a sipping rum. This is borderline by that measure - full flavoured, but a tad rough. I'd liken it to Lambs Navy Rum. Nowhere near as smooth as Goslings Black Seal nor the feisty Woods.
