Does everything advertised and does it well.

From earlier reviews I had some trepidation about using this for my existing 12/3 cable. Sturdiness and ability to evenly wrap the wire onto the roll was in question. Let me say I now have have no misgivings about either. I had absolutely no problem wrapping my "Yellow Jacket" 12/3 100 footer onto this spool. Well, only one problem: the little restraining snap that originally holds the 1ft connecting cable onto the spool sort of got in the way when winding my 100 foot wire, so I removed it temporarily and finished the loading of the cable. Snapped back in place when done and clipped my newly wrapped cable onto this clip and all was well.I initially decided to avoid trying to do a 'neat' wrap as that was never going to happen after the first use anyway, but this didn't cause any problems with getting the entire 100 foot line onto the spool. It may look a little 'ragged' but all the wire fits securely within the spool boundary and does not interfere with unspooling.All-in-all a good value. Given I'm graduating to using spools from the old random coil (or the better 'weaving') for cable storage, this was a cost-effective way to go this next step. I am puzzled about the slim availability of thes 'use your own cable' spools, though. Amazon was the only reasonably-priced vendor of these, but the nice Prime shipping was a big plus.I wouldn't rate these as truly 'industrial' for every day use, but for reasonably rugged home use, they are perfect.Definitely recommended.

This extension cord and reel are very high quality. You definitely get what you pay for, and the reel makes organization of this long cord a breeze!

The only issue that I have is that it's difficult to reel the cable because of the pre-connected cord that plugs the reel in. Basically you have to remove the entire cable to be able to put it back on. But clearly professionally build and high quality.

Easy to use. Made of metal. I tried a plastic one first, but it broke almost immediately. So, now I only go with these steel ones. These reels will hold up to 100 feet of 12 gauge extension cord. I think these reels are one of the better and more cost effective methods of storing long electrical extension cords.

At my workplace there will be times we will need to run power temporarily to groups of equipment in the warehouse. Previously everyone had hesitated going to find, lug around and detangle a traditional extension cord.With this product we are able to compactly store a portable power source. No time is wasted having to untangle or manage a 50-100ft cord. The multiple outlets is very convenient to avoid having to constantly change plugs. The built in circuit breaker protects against taking the rest of the circuit down while troubleshooting faulty equipment that may have electrical issues making a short more likely.Everyone is very happy to have this around and is getting more use than we though it would. Will probably end up adding more to our shop in the near future.

Didn’t expect much. Knew I wanted something with the extra gauge wire. Expected I would get this and have to bend the metal sides into shape. Nope, came good right out of the box. Has held up to work truck bouncing. Yea, I still wrap and coil cords. But this is nice to keep at home sometimes for jobs around the house and safer for the wife to use and manage then me coming home and having to wrap a cord.

Nicely constructed and easy to unroll and roll up wire. It's light enough with 100' of cable around a work site.
